Yes, I'm aware that we all know what people mean when they say noon. But if you'll read Ian's original post, he is claiming that the am/pm convention is flawed. My "over analysing" proves that the am/pm convention is not wrong. Hell, I say I'll meet someone at noon when I'm talking about my lunch break at 11:30.

Non last no time by definition. In speech, the word 'noon' is very non-time specific.
