| if pirating didn't exist, lots of people would be using free/open-source programs for their tasks.. Everyone would be using open office instead of microsoft office. Lots of music people would be using free music/sound programs (there are lots), all the non-rich graphic designers would be using gimp. Chances are with a wider user base all these programs would be maintained much better than they are now. More people would be using Linux instead of windows.
So if you think about it piracy hurts free software as much as it hurts commercial software... |
