I believe this to be more likely then teh bible story. Since it is related to somethign that actually happened on a friday the 13th.
At the same time though, the early christians and jews celebrated the 13 pagan sabbaths. Something convinced them to turn 13 from a holy number to an unlucky number. Based on everythign else about the Romans I wouldn't be surprised if it was for the purpose of converting the pagans. For the same reason the devil has horns and hooves. |
