Neither do I.
Everything we do in today's society is considered illegal somehow. And potentially cancerous too. But at least our illegal downloads contain no trans fats so that's a good thing ! |

You can very much explain morals, good/bad, right/wrong with science, i dunno why you'd think otherwise.. Don't kill: Why? Because we as a society would go to shit if we killed everyone. Don't Steal: Why? Because taking other people's things would lead to killing (very simplistic view, but you get the idea). Don't Rape.. don't lie.. every moral rule you've got in your head can be logically reasoned.. and if it can't, well you'd better start thinking about why you're living by that rule. Science, the "observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena" absolutely applies to how we as humans come to our own, or group conclusions as to what is right and wrong. Anybody who simply says "that's wrong.. just because" IS WRONG, sorry to say it, but without a reason for believing something.. you have no reason to be believing it. |

Ahem, copyright infringement is NOT stealing.
if you think it is, go look up what stealing means. |

i just heard a little newsbite on the radio about lokitorrent being shut down. apparently the movie execs (are they the MPAA? anyways..) sued the guy responsible, fined him and also, part of the deal was that he had to turn over all the logs he has of everyone who has downloaded pirated movies from him, so that those people can also be prosecuted. apparently this is only a big deal in the states right now....but thats just it.....right now.....things COULD change here, unfortunately... |

guess what, logs don't prove shit.
good luck tracking a dynamic ip address to a user, let alone to an actual person. top that off with them proving that you don't own the content you downloaded. FAIR USE states you can duplicate your own property, if you own a dvd, you are allowed to duplicate it for your own use. |
