Let's not forget that religion has plenty of its own side effects. Like, don't you think the world would be a better place today if George W. stayed a cokehead and never 'found God'?

what i'm wondering is, if you replace addiction with god, and then if god lets you down, what are you gonna turn to?
strength can only come from within
everything else is a band aid

nothing wrong with having faith, it's just my 2 cents about using god to help treat addiction.

Use faith and not a specific dezinen or being to be a crutch. When you find faith and God you find yourself, because God is within all of us. To have faith in God's self is to have faith in yourself.

but why call your inner strength 'god'
isnt it better to recognize that you are a strong person, to truly have faith in your independent ability to do something for yourself, rather than ascribing this ability to someone else

you dont "replace" addiction with god. you "replace" the hole you were trying to fill with spirituality. and that does come from within. as for replacing an addiction, that would be food, shopping tv.. something material. oh and if you have faith, you wont be let down... as for drugs.. theyll let you down each and every time.

Very well said. I'm sure with a little effort you could inspire alot of happiness to individuals who've lost hope. I may not believe in any God but I have faith in humanity and that's somehting nobody can ever take away from me...
