The Lord of the Flies-William Golding

I'm trying to read classics, so if anyone has some interesting suggestions, I would appreciate it.
You know when you are reading a literary article and the author refers to how this piece of literature has a similar such and such as this other book,
well, I am trying to read those other books, thanks kids. =)

Read Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs or On the road by Jack Kerouak.

Great American Beatnik classics.

Is Catch-22 any good?
I was just gonna buy it... I heard it was really funny.

haha on the road had such a violent impact on me..
as for naked lunch, its hillarious/weird/hard to read at times and im still not sure if i understood everything about it.
l'etranger - albert camus is also pretty good, if you read french.

Yeah, On the Road was Amazing!
But Naked Lunch changed my life. It was hard for me to get my head around the first chapter, but once I got into it... I just flew right through the book.

Dr. Benway is my hero!

NURSE: "I think she's gone, doctor."

DR. BENWAY: "Well, it's all in the day's work." He walks across the room to a medicine cabinet.... "Some fucking drug addict has cut my cocaine with Saniflush! Nurse! Send the boy out to fill this RX on the double!"

*Faints*

Catch 22 is a pretty awesome read. You really can't figure out what's going on at first, its just random crazy anecdotes about being in the war, but its witty, that's what makes it worth the read. Enjoy. =)
