In the past 3 weeks I've gone through a 500 sheet stack of printer paper in CVs. In the past 4 years I've applied to probably close to 200 diffrent telemarketing/phone work (surveys, tech support, etc.) places. I've applied at deps, clothing stores, electronics stores, warehouses, internet cafes and a whole gamut of anything that looked like I could possibly do. I've had friends who were close with their boss and/or human resources try to get me jobs where they work. I've had my father try and get me jobs with some of his close friends and customers in clothing design, modeling, graphic design, sewing, operating machinery in knitting plants. I've had my mother and her BF try to get me in to companies to do manual electronics assembly, running various things in electronics assembly, being a gopher in the office.

Nothing.

In most cases, I don't even get a call back from places I apply to. Ok, I know, recently, it seems as if I've been slacking off a lot from looking, but after 4 fucking years of looking for a job and literally going after ANYTHING that comes my way and not getting anywhere, it's become hardcore depressing and seems too fucking pointless to even try.

Not gonna stop me from looking, mind you, because I *need* to get out of here, but sometimes things don't always work out the way you want them to.

i give my parent so much money i sometimes lose track. frequently i give them my entire weekly paychecks and i recently bought my mom prescription glasses... i don't even have glasses myself.

every other weekend i'm my moms slave in the garden, helping her move bags of dirt around and shoveling while she watches and tells me how dumb i am... just like good old time

"mono, you'll always be a such a stupid kid but you're a good boy"

I AIN'T ASHAMED!

i think it's an asian thing.. i heard that it's traditional to serve your elders hand and foot, then you get it back in return when you're older and need it the most.

it's not just Asian...we Latinos have to call our parents "usted", it's equivalent of the polite "vous" in French....and when you're parents say jump, it's "how high would usted like me to jump?"....that type-o-thing because of all the sacrifices they've made for us (they're child)

oh and moving out for no good reason (i.e.:getting married or getting a job OUT OF TOWN) is a baaaad idea...because you're seen as a bad son because you're leaving your parents and showing them that you're ungratefull and the rest of the familly's gonna question you like mad! "Why did you ditch your parents? Are you unhappy with them? They have always done everything for you." and so on....but on the other hand, kicking me out of the house would never cross their mind and they will always be there for me....no matter how bad of a son I could be.....wihc I am not!....just saying.

i think its important for the man to be at home with the babies on paternity leave while the woman goes out and climbs the corporate ladder.

I think that's silly, becuase girls always get paid less than guys.. Makes more sense for the guy to work and make more money
