J'ai aucune idée de comment ca se passe pour les bands ici au Quebec, mais pour ce qui est des agences bookings de dj/live en Europe, le booking agent recoit un pourcentage en virement directement des promoteurs et les artistes sont payés apres leur show cash. Donc le artist fee reste le meme qu'entendu auparavant, le pourcentage de l'agent est additionnel au cachet.

Perhaps it's the soundcloud player that's at a low bitrate (streaming at 128kps) but the guy's legit [ soundcloud.com ] If you don't need mastering services the power is yours, but there's noting wrong with his services imo.

yes but as soon as you record your hardware back into a computer it becomes digital and you lose all this great quality, we tried recording a virus and it sounded like ass once in the pc. Maybe if you have a mega studio you can record properly, but that will cost a fortune. I know a lot of people who have tons of hardware (like the studio in my pic) and they are plugged but rarely used (collecting dust). Not that hardware isn't nice & fun to play with though.

But it's not hard to synch a trainwreck because you don't need to be on time XD

Bottom line is, the business model in electronic music have changed, and record sells are no longer a main source of revenue for artists. It's now about getting your music to a max of people by any means (free or distributed). Then you get proper bookings which in turn pay your bills etc.. If someone wants to support you, they are very nice for doing so for sure, but I would rather get all my shit downloaded by thousands of people for free, then seeing 1 person go to prison for downloading a track or to prevent the music from being heard / played by people to save a few pennies. back some years ago, we used to press and sell 1500 copies of each vinyl release, the revenue was good, but now it's more of a 'collector's item' and a pressing is about 400 copies and repress if it sells out.. and digital sells don't pay as much, it's just how things evolved we can't do anything about it.
But you get WAY more exposure then ever before now so it balances out :)
