This is exactly what I mean by Montreal's scene is dead you guys. You should go to Toronto sometime, they still have a tightly knit scene, even when there aren't parties every weekend. They didn't just give up when parties got shut down.

Actually, I've never been to picknik and from what I've heard that's more the club scene. Just becuse I like Deadmau5 doesn't mean I'd consider those parties raves.

To me Raves are Hardcore, Happy hardcore, hardstyle, hard music in general. It's people that follow PLURR even though they say it's dead. It's people that hop in a car to travel all around the country for their favourite DJ's. The happiness that comes with it. The bright colourful clothes and the friendships that are made. We're the misfits in society, we don't judge each other. Maybe it's people like my brother who make me feel the way I do about the Psy scene, I'm different... so I get judged, I wear bright colours and I'm a happy outgoing person. It's when I feel like I'm being judged because of this I feel the need to stand up for myself and the people like me. I always feel that way when I'm around Psytrancers. I get dirty looks, or even worse, I see when they're Making fun of my friends and I. I don't experience that when I'm at D'n'B nights at the clubs, or at house nights, or even house parties unless there are people from the Psy scene around.

It's like 'trancers preach love and peace but they stand around judging everyone else. Maybe that's just in my experience but that's why I see such a difference between raves and Psy parties.

It was so long ago... dunno if you'll find it.

I've been partying longer than 5 years thanks, and you can talk about festivals all you want. They aren't raves either, they're FESTIVALS. Just because the type of music is "widespread underground electronic music" doesn't make it a rave. In all of my experience Psytrancers are so adamant that they are BETTER then the rave scene, and APART from the rave scene. Yet everyone has their panties in a bunch because I think they are two separate events. (Emphasis in the "I"... glad my opinion means so much to all of you.

A) Kire, Clearly you haven't been to many parties then.
B) Lita can tell you I've been to psy parties.
C) Yes Melo and Masa, He is my real brother. I'm actually surprised you didn't know.
D) Nothing at 1619 was ever a rave or anything serious in my life.
E) Matricks, you know and always have known how I feel about Psy. No matter what any of you say I still don't think that Psy parties are classified as raves. That being said, yeah... you know me well. Ravewave needed some new drama, all the old threads we're dying. LOL

I may have been overweight when you saw me last, things change when you change your lifestyle and move up in society. I may not be at my goal weight yet but at least I have my looks and well maintained personal hygiene to fall back on. I also know that the weight I put on after my kids is what's been holding me back the most. As far as I'm concerned I look pretty fucking good for a mom of two. Nope, Never do. You probably won't be seeing me at any parties anymore as I moved across the country too. I refuse to pay for psy parties. and I most definitely won't go to the free ones either. I can't stand it.

how is it a rave?? It's Psytrance only (which for those who don't know, I hate with a passion so intense) with a bunch of uv reactive paintings. For the most part it's hippies who definitely don't practice what they preach, and do just as many drugs as the ravers that they attack on a regular basis for doing said drugs.

In my opinion a psy party is not a rave and it's really frustrating to continuously hear psytrancers calling their events raves. What do you guys think?
