Brostep/mainstream dupstep is the skrillex type stuff, some older wobbly rusko.. pretty much music that when you listen to it, the picture that comes to your mind of people who are fans of it is either Hot Topic Mallcore emos or Ali G gangsta-wannabes.

There's a salad they have/had on the menu at L'Avenue that was fucking amazing.. I think they used two or three different kinds of lettuce, baby spinach, actual tiny chopped up pieces of bacon, three different cheeses on it (one of the three was feta, and I think there was mozzarella in there too), and raisins, apple bits and pieces of orange. don't remember what the dressing was.. but it was fucking awesome!

I'm really loving the evolution of Dubstep. In a few short years they managed to go from:

to

From awesome lazer dinosaur robots fighting, to the music of choice for 10 year old girls that like dancing with their teddy bears. Now that La Boom has latched onto dubstep, and they're using it in commercials aimed at 10 year olds, maybe we can get back to raves and parties having UNDERGROUND music once again.

» Screwhead répondu dessus Sun 25 Sep, 2011 @ 12:07pm. Posted in How Meat Changed Our Bodies.
screwhead
Coolness: 685710
It's actually the other way around; our digestive system is better suited to digest meat than it is to digest fruits and veggies.. We can't do away with them completely though, because just as there's no creatine in fruits and veggies, there's a lot of necessary vitamins that aren't found in meat.. But to use the engine analogy; meat is the gas our body needs, but fruits and veggies are the oil.. you don't get an oil change every two days, but you DO need to gas up fairly often.. The engine will break down without the oil to keep things running smoothly, but if you take away the fuel source (or try to power your car with oil instead of gas) you're not going to be driving anywhere..

Meat that 'drains' your energy is usually because it's not cooked in a healthy way (too much salt/spices, fried, etc).. a plain steak with nothing extra on it won't have that effect.. but you also need to balance everything out.. don't eat a 24oz steak and be surprised you can't move; you're overloading your body so it needs time to recover.

Everything in it's reasonable portions.. meat portions are usually smaller than veggie portions because meat has creatine, which is the energy your brain needs for thought processing, and a small amount of meat is like a super-charge.

Have I ever pretended to be anything to the contrary? If I see something that's stupid and hypocritical, I call it out, I don't go under the false pretense of loving everyone and everything, but actually talking behind people's back and judging and hating on everyone in secret to those that are 'in the club'.

The whole psytrance spirituality hippy bullshit is just posturing, as well as pretty fucking insulting to the people who actually believe in all the religious memorabilia that's been re-purposed into day-glo trip-enhancers.

Right, psytrance, AKA let's take a bunch of Indian religions, paint pictures of their gods in UV-reactive paints and take a ton of drugs and pretend we're spiritual while destroying our minds, bodies and hearing and being judgmental and hateful pricks to everyone that doesn't buy into the whole "I'm a hippy, I'm into nature and natural things" that we preach while eating chemicals, wearing tons of clothes made from synthetic fibers, listen to music made on computers being played back by CDJs that are loaded with computer components and that leave a ton of toxic byproduct when all their insides are made.

No, it's not. It's an absolute basic, paint-by-numbers example of how to make a popular song. Bass ducks the kick, major chord progression with a sawtooth lead, stock Z3+a presets, Vengeance drums; welcome to every single popular breaks, house and electro track that's been made by big-name producers for the past 5-10 years. Maybe I'd find it impressive if he was 10 years old and making music like this, but like Alex said, it sounds pretty much exactly like an Ableton tutorial teaching you how to side-chain.

deadmau5 now is like moby was back in the late 90s/early 2000s; it's not so much that he makes good music, it's that he makes music that's so weak, watered down and pop-accesible that the mainstream latches onto it and he becomes the electronic version of Britney, the Spice Girls or NSync; the 'safe' artist you can talk to your grandmother about over thanksgiving dinner and she'll know who you're referring to.. kinda like what Bal en Blanc is to actual raves; the socialy-acceptable garbage that's one step removed from being Brian Adams or Nickelback.

From what I gather that's the kind of whiny little shit that he's always been.. I know a couple people that went to highschool with him, and he's the little shit that would go and get teachers when other kids were smoking and rat them out.. any time anyone did something they shouldn't in class he was the snitch that was practically getting off on pointing his finger and saying "HE DID IT!"

No fucking respect for that kind of little shit. And that's not even getting into his no-punch plastic-toy sounding drums and Z3+a-preset synth-lines.
