the rave scene is anything but making money tbh, making enough to throw another party will be a feat, but that at least can be a reality... but i do need to say.

i don't want to add much to this ( can't believe how crazy this thread became, lol ) but i do need to say the veterans of the scene do deserve respect as they are the foundation for what we now have today. i've learned a lot just from keeping my ears open, becoming closed from pride or what not will hurt you in the end, dawker i'm just saying nathan has been around for a while and he does know his shit inside out. i appreciate the support, but it's kind of like trying to argue with melodrastik, it doesn't work lol.

anyway, to clarify and wrap the earlier argument up, what took place this weekend was not related to blind side. it's sad and unfortunate what happened, had i been more aware of it myself i could have helped, for that i apologize as well as on their behalf.

yeah we tried to give a " wow " factor on the venue with meats of evil, it was the spot where epic coalition was last year by the water, other than that it was a pretty standard outdoor, couple lasers couple lights, etc

you're definitely right about that lol i'm curious how people will react when we start to throw paying events, it could turn out good or bad, i'll have to ride the river n see where it leads tbh.

i can't change the date because it's all set in stone, but when making a party the first thing to do is to set a date, before doing anything at all, hence if there's already a party on a friday in mtl, then move it to saturday, unless the promoter decided to do everything THEN post the date but that's just bad organizing

i wasn't saying the only way to make people come to my parties is to make it free, i was saying that the best way to become a known promoter is to throw a memorable party, and how do you get the biggest turnout ? make it free, it might be the easy road but it's the safe road, people would come to our parties regardless, but i want to build up to it

yes but not all the dj's have or are in the " click " i find it's too much of who you know to get ur foot in the door, i'm not only helping them promote themselves but will be and am planning on booking a lot of these guys for our future events, especially Nightfall. i'm so sick of seeing the same names at every party. sometimes you gotta give people a chance, i'm not just using them and throwing them away, and they become good friends of mine in the process as well

there are a ton of " clicks " in the scene nowadays, imo like ntk and hardtimes, but for us ? hell i don't even know anyone personally from either of those groups, except one psy dj. lol

when we get bigger as a company and more solidified we'll start to recruit resident dj's and do fun collaborations with the bigger promoters, but right now we're still small. for example, i can't just walk up to the ntk crew n be like yo lets do a party together! lol

well, what i lost i may never make back, but the memories i have will last forever

thats why we're trying to do things slowly, there are many fatal mistakes that can be made when organizing a party and i don't want that to happen, better safe than sorry.

well honestly people can say what they want, but the perfect example is nova 9 tbh, i posted this event way before anything was going on during that weekend, if a promoter is to think it will interfere with his event before making it he/she could just move it to a different day, before i make any event my first priority is the schedule of the of that month, i would never put a party on the same day as anothother one, but if a promoter wants to put a party on a weekend im throwing mine then go ahead lol. how am IIII fucking over HIIIIM when HEEEE posted on that weekend WAY AFTER i posted mine ? hes on a saturday neway.

i'm assuming you got my pm then - throwing a few free parties to promote your company is a great business move, imo they will remember the promoter and when the paying events come so will they, i don't see how that's fucking over promoters i just think it's smart. had i decided to throw lockdown as our first event, we'd have a shitty turn out, especially in the summer and i'd lose money, it's not about making a living off of it it's about making enough to throw another one and another one etc. right now im losing money throwing these events but i have fun doing it and it'll pay off in the end, if it doesn't then oh well at least i tried.

you really need to stop bringing up the " i have no dj's so im asking [ rave.ca ] " thing, how many times have i said i have a psy line up i was asking for new dj's that play different genre's and if they wanted to play on my stage, but u made me realize i should just stick with what and who i know, psytrance.

every company starts off small, at least they should. do you not remember dark tendancy ? they still owe noah money for that if i'm not mistaken. i'm trying a different slower route with my company.

we'll see where we're at next year after our events this winter. and hey, if it all failed at least i tried and you can feel free to laugh at me. but i am by no means trying to fuck over other promoters.
