Jack Beats was the guy that used to run CHOPSTICK DUBPLATE.
But I think he moved back to the USA.
I think someone else tok over the business when he split.

He would cut it right in front of you !
I had a few of my tracks made into dubplates back in 1999-2000.

Adrien Sherwood worked on the first Suns of Arqa album back in 1979.
He has also done a few remixes over the years.
We played a show with him in Paris last year at the Telerama Dub Festival.
Was awesome ! Adrien Sherwood rocks !He was performing with MC Brother Culture.
I have some video footage of the show that I will put on YouTube one of these days.

As for CD's for sale, not sure if the last SUNS OF AQRA albums are distributed in Canada.
You can buy the PURE SOUNDTRACK CD - it is on my label, mixed by DJ GUAPO and features one of my my remixes of SUNS OF ARQA.

You can buy most of Suns of Arqa's CD through the website [ www.sunsofarqa.co.uk ] .
They also had an alubm on INTERCHILL RECORDS back in 2001.

I have been working with SUNS OF ARQA since 2005. My remix of one of their tracks has had some international success. We are currently halfway through making a new album.

You are right - it would cost a few thousand euros to get the whole band here from Europe. But I've been doing some semi-live shows here in Montreal of the songs from the new album. I did a big show at the S.A.T. last spring with 2 Indian singers, tabla, opera singers, VJ etc.. Did a smaller version with just one of the singers at Lambi & Fractal.

So for the LOVE EVENT I would do a DJ set of our new songs with just one or two of my singers.

Lola Lounge is a funky decadent place.
The decor is like a 1920's whorehouse :
red satin couches, antique chandeliers etc..
It's Trashy / Classy !

The capacity is about 150 people.
It's owned by the same crew that owned Luba Lounge.
Great sound system - nice bass !
They make awesome martini's - especially the chocolate martini !
