This week in Ottawa's after-hours community marks the beginning of a new era with the Re-Opening of Surface Saturdays in the freshly renovated New Capital Music Hall. After DJ Heather is done detroying the dancefloor, come out to keep the vibe going all day long at Sundaze!

This week's guest DJ:

PHIL DOTY (4thePeople, Club SODA Thursdays)

Born in Montreal, Phil Doty first encountered house music in his teenage years, and the underground house music scene was introduced to him soon thereafter. While studying at the University of Ottawa, he met many local DJs and promoters in that city's club scene. With the help of Ottawa mainstay Joe Juarez, Phil's career as a DJ in Ottawa was born.

His first experiences behind the decks in Ottawa’s came with nights such as Tribalicious, Classics Night at MTL & Co., and at Surface. More recently, Phil has been DJing and promoting with 4thepeople, and honing his skills by working with many of the talented local and international guest DJs that we are blessed to hear in our Nation’s Capital.

Phil’s musical tastes are quite varied, and at times he hits styles such as funky, vocal grooving house, tribal, electro, progressive, and the odd dose of techno thrown in for good measure.
