| Informations: | The unexpected. It's local R+B singer Alanna Stuart wowing an unexpecting crowd on the main stage before K-Os at Ottawa Bluesfest. Or perhaps it's Serbian-Canadian Maya Ethier commanding an audience of 25,000 at Chile's La Vina Del Mar Music Festival. Such opportunities seem to be coming along regularly for singing partners Alanna and Maya. Their weekly residence at Elgin Street's Fresco Cielo was a delight for those who enjoy soul classics and originals in an intimate setting. The two recently opened for DJ Jazzy Jeff, nu funkster Sharon Jones and K-Os. World-renowned DJs like Diplo, Moonstarr, Trevor Walker and Rise Ashen want to collaborate. Alanna has also become a regular contributor to the monthly Disorganised event. For all their success, it's a wonder why Maya and Alanna are still relatively unknown in their own city. To rectify this problem, these two are headlining a show of their own with Babylon's newest fixture: Soul Jazz Orchestra (Montréal and Ottawa Jazz Festivals, [ www.souljazzorchestra.com ] Ottawa's only two live Funk, Soul and R+B bands are coming together to put on one of the most exciting performances this summer!
