I'm pretty much in the same situation as you Jeff. I was brougth up in the post-communist period in former Yugoslavia. Since I was born I was drilled to respect others and since my family is huuuuge, the family values were a big priority. Not just for us but that whole region. When we moved here my brother was only 5 and the only life he knows is the one he had here. He has no respect for anyone and he's a spoiled little bitch. He even calls our parents by their 1st name and it frustrates me so much. He's always getting everything he wants and he even failed sec 1, barely passed sec 2 and is so-so strugling with sec 3. I passed sec 1 with barely speaking any french but since my grades weren't as high as my parents wanted, my parents would bring it up every day untill they totally crushed me. What happened when my brother failed sec 1? absolutely nothing.. not even a spanking or anything, just some bs threats about him getting beaten up.
1st children seem to be always the ones that have to suffer because of those who come after. We should unite and kick their asses =Þ
