But for crying out loud, do not say JEWISH PEOPLE IN GENERAL OWN THE WORLD!! My friend Reena is Jewish, and the only thing she owns is her clothing!!(there is a possibilty that these people may know eachother, but I dont beleive it is a consipracy that Jewish people are taking over... to a certain degree :)) If a every company that held a major influence in the world was runned by Christian men or women, that had no ties to eachother other than their religion. Would you say that Christians ruled the world? |

 Coolness: 201445 | The reason people say "Jews run the world" is because people of that culture/faith have a disproportionate amount of power/wealth for the relatively small population of people who adhere to Judaism (I think it is somewhere between 16-20 million), while Christians (including catholic, protestant, orthodox) number somewhere around 1 billion and people of the Islam faith are pretty close to that number...
However a better explanation for the number of Jews in important positions would be that the culture has a strong emphasis on education (which in turn presents good job opportunities), as well as some jobs being traditionally "Jewish" because they were the only ones Jews were allowed to have way-back-when in Europe (Such as finance and law). I also heard a very good explanation from one of my teachers (who happens to be Jewish) as to why many Jews work in the diamond/jewellery industry... As a very nomadic people, at least until recently, you would need some sort of universal currency or universally valuable skill and jewellery/gold/diamonds definitely applies... Anyway, a lot of it has to do with jealousy over the success of a relatively high amount of people from one small religion/culture in certain key industries… But as any logical person knows, not all Jews are rich or good with money, and being Jewish doesn’t automatically mean you will be a success in life and be rich… |
