Spooky whats yr problem? I did read it. I also know that a lot of traditional doctors are so out of the loop and are incredibly closed minded. And biased. Thats the professional opinion of one doctor. Another may tell you something completely different. And if you went to see a new-age/alternative kind of doctor most of them would tell you its healthier not to touch meat at all.

Man. I dunno what kind of dietician you went to but thats wack. Dieticians today take other people's morals injto consideration and tell then what kind of supplements they should be taking in order to get the nutrients, vitamins and minerals they need. In fact, a lot of vegetarians and vegan I know how low B12 count, and their dietician recommends that they get a bi-monthly B12 shot.

RThe dietician should recommend a diet that is best suited for your lifestyle. Even eating beans and proteins isnt enough to keep you healthy. Even leafy greens like spinach dont contain enough iron the way meat does. Because of this, you should be taking supplements and getting your blood profiled at least once per year to make sure your mineral levels are all sufficient.

Go see another dietician. That one's wack.

haha, yeah, it's funny. "Health-concious" people doing drugs is the best if that's their reasons for it. Or like, they drink alcohol and/or smoke tobbaco. Hell, if they're so "afraid" of all these chemicals, then the ones that smoke weed shouldn't even buy it from other people, they should only smoke their own or some outdoor grown stuff from someone they trust. For the most part, they're just a bunch of people who want to be "diffrent" and this is their way of rebelling. Like the goths in that south park episode.

Zippity...you need to eat a balanced diet...balanced.....

I try to eat fruit, veggies, and protein sources every day. The thought of eating meat makes me ill too, I just can't do it. Perhaps humans are supposed to evolve into non-meat eating beings?

As for the mystery protein that can only be found in meat, if the side effects are worse (from eating it) is it worth it? When I ate meat i had all sorts of health issues...i often felt sick or had tummy troubles.

And Spooky, I'm a modern day tree-hugger....in fact, I sit and talk to trees. I recycle too and I'm only gonna buy a car that's enviro-friendly...what's wrong with that?

You need to read books like 'Mad Cowboy' and learn exactly how much damage the beef/fowl/pork industries actually do to the environment.

Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

See, I don't particulary care too much what they do. It's not like I'm gonna be alive long enough to see the results anyways. The meat consumption that I do has too little of an effect on things for me to give half a shit what's going on. As long as I'm comfortable, right here, right now, when I'm alive, then fuck the rest.

the best time to talk to tree or the whole forest entity is in walking on a familiar path in the woods in complete darkess. i figure it's cause you don't see the trees as you're used to seing them and so you stop judging. really humbling when all of a sudden when all you can see if your feet and you don't see so big anymore.

it's fucken intense!

yo Sammy....that is so true. Your comment brought a smile to my face...i wish more people took the time to hang in the woods. I haven't done it in awhile but I can't wait to sit in the middle of the forest and listen to nature's wispers.

It's cleansing and the trees like it when we appreciate and play with them....

i want to know why every meat eater i've ever met tries to force blood and guts down my throat.

My experience has been just the opposite. For a while I was going out with a vegetarian, I never criticized her for her choices, if anything I respected the level of discipline it takes not to eat meat. Meanwhile, she and her friends used EVERY OPPORTUNITY to make snide remarks about that fact that I eat meat, like I'm some sick heartless fuck. Meanwhile I was about 6 feet and weighed 127 lbs, so we're not talking about someone who can fuck with his diet to just shut people up.

And she did it for 'political reasons'. I didn't have the mind to tell her that we're ALL slaves of some system in one form or another, and no, we're not at the top of the food chain; we're WORM CHOW after we're dead, get used to it. (Unless of course you get filled up with formaldehyde during the gruesome embalming procedure which I read and won't go into detail about now.)

But I'll say this much, I can relate to the "love your friends, don't eat them" sentiment, and I'd prefer that the animals are treated well in their lifetime which sadly is not always the case.

you guys wanna argue with a die-hard animal rights activist go talk with Lucas, he was front of the Dawson Animal Liberation. Now he gets flown all over the place by Peta. He works at Urban-Outfitters right now. dunno if that's really an Activist cool place to work but i guess all those trendy fashion geeks there are wannabe Vegan-but-i-only-eat-chicken-and-my-brand-new-shoes-are-leather-but-i-got-them-before-i-turned-vegan-last-week

wowza........thanks people, i actually didn't expect replies

i've known a couple vegans and and vegetarians that i really don't get along with because they're so damn judgemental. i don't eat meat because i've never liked it, it's the equivalent of trying to choke down a tarantula or something to my taste buds.

over the years though i've given other reasons, mostly environmental, ocassionally animal rights reasons for my choices but i've never been a preachy veggie. i don't care if other people eat meat, i think that people should be allowed to eat whatever they want.

i just can't do it, i'm worried about my health but there is just going to have to be a solution that i can live with.............

blah
oh, and how do you get a doctor in quebec that actually takes the time to figure out why you've been sick for the past year and a half? because the best answer i've gotten so far is, "it just happens."
yeah, really helpful.

i don't like preachy and judgmental folks either. nothing is absolute. i find myself fighting or arguing with veggie peers more than anything

like my buddy Guy is taoist and he doesn't eat onions or garlic cause of the property of their energies when you digest it

tried walking into one of those medicinal herb shops in chinatown? i don't know which ones, but if you can get a knowledgable buddy to refer you to one and maybe you can try that as an alternative... im sure you probably looks into alot of "alternative" medicine already
