[DRUM & BASS] Various - Timeless EP Vol.2 on Timeless. The first one was hot, this one is hotter! New tunes from Silver with 'Turn you Loose' and Dylan with 'So Special'. The two standout track for me come from Total Science and Digital, with 'Anastasia' and 'Come To Me' respectively. Friction - The Lightspeed EP on CIA. Man of the moment, Friction steps up to Total Science's label and gives us 4 wicked smashing cuts to tear up dancefloors! Absolutely essential. STA & Paul B - Secrets Inside EP on DSCI4. I'm not saying shit about this one. If you know what's up then you're already your way over here. And no I can't put one on hold for you! Baron - Angel Of Death on Subtronix. It's all about the a-side on this twelve. The typical stabs baron is known for alongside a super-ruff bassline lead into heavy amens with a sick bassline. By far his hardest tune to date! Aquasky - Insomniak Remix/Xerox on Incident. The latest from Aquasky on their own Incident sub-label...very very nice remix of their hit 'Insomnia' track this time done up ina more agressive dancefloor way...the flip is also reminiscent of their earlier work from the Bodyshock days...sweet. Teebee - Firing Line/Sunday Sessions on Subtitles. I personally have been waiting for this one for quite a bit, the a-side is pure, thick Teebee at his best. The flip has an ode to the Metalheadz sunday sessions and is very true to that old Metalheadz sound...with alot of classic samples thorwn in...excellent production as usual makes this record an instant classic for d&b purists and dancefloor nutters alike. Red One - Pitch Switch/Screwball on Liftin Spirits. In a Bad Company style this is not your typical RAM release...after delivering the insane 'Believe in You' a few months ago, 'Pitch Switch' takes it to the next level, stripping down the drums and cranking up the bass with a twisted acid line running through the whole tune. Flip for more of what you'd expect from the guy, behind the guy....behind the guy. Fugees - Ready or Not (DJ Hyper Remix) on White. Nothing needs to be said about this classic tune, and most of you heads will definetly already have it. But the fact is, sometimes you miss the big tunes from way back, so here it is again in all it's one-sided glory. Mobb Deep - Shook Ones (2002 Ganja Kru Remix) on White. Need more jungle? don't have this tune yet? Wake up! The most anticipated bootleg since the ready or not! This tune took years to finally get released, and now with the repress you have absolutely no excuse not to grab it! Buju Banton - Boom Bye Bye (Jungle Remix) For those of you who don't mind the sexist lyrics like i've been reading about on [ montrealjungle.com ] this tune is still considered to be one of the classic jungle tunes of all time. Like i said.....get over here...... |
