So true !! Sometimes the police did a good work, but the final decision is behind the judge's hands. Like Mr Turcotte who almost got nothing for his double murder..... We really need a better system in Quebec.

agreed. that's how they do it in Ireland. the local hoodlum kids were running wild - mugging people, beating people, stealing any car they can find and racing around the streets. The police can't be trusted, so the paramilitary gangs clean up their own communities.

they target people doing serious crimes - for instance, people dealing hard drugs to the local youth, or doing street robberies.. they take them out to alleys and hand out punishment beatings, or shoot them through the kneecap.

I'm not saying I agree with all their tactics. it's extremely brutal.. but a strong virus calls for strong medicine. some people are like wild animals. fear of violence is the *only* thing they understand. so over there, it doesn't matter who you are, you have to respect the neighbourhood, or else.

although i like the sentiment, going after these little twats, if you set up a para military force and start using it to push back against these dicks, you are all going to get arrested, you just don't have the authority to do that...

move to a safer country, japan, korea, china, i don't know montreal isn't that bad, it is getting worse though...it's funny we seem to have less murders but more violent crime and street crime...it's weird.
I'm feeling surly right now..

Actually there was a group of 6 kids at the back of the bus and they all knew each other. I never said they were gangbangers. I said in a hypothetical situation where they had been a gang you would have been fucked.

So while I understand you need to lie to protect your boyfriend, don't be calling me a liar when I tell it like it is.

PS You said yourself there were 7 people on the bus. Me, you and apparently two kids who didn't know each other. Problem is that only makes 4 in your story. Which is proof right there you're lying.

Essentially here's what happened, I'm walking home from Bassdrive, I catch the bus on Sherbrooke. I look down the alley, I see a group of 6 kids in the back and a girl in the middle who seemed somewhat familiar facing forward. I sit down in the front seat where the driver is and just mind my own business. A few stops later the guys exit, two from the front, the rest from the back. Then a couple of stops later the girl gets up and exits the front of the bus with this smirk. I get off a few stops later and then it hits me, oh yeah, thats Host's One girlfriend, I remember her from that time I bumped into Host in the metro and he mumbled some shit while staring at the ground. That pretty much sums it up.

And unlike the internet tough guys on this board, the baklava wearing Irish paramilitary are fucking scary and intimidating as hell.

re: knives.

Who really knows how to use one effectively? Cutting a person isn't going to stop them, you would have to stab and kill them. You'd have to have instant reflexes and know where the arteries/organs are. Most people have no idea how to use a knife (myself included).

Guys, seriously dont talk shit if you're not gonna do shit. Its easy to talk tough on the internet, but lets face it, next weekend you'll probably all be playing video games :P

Trust me, any idiot who starts walking around with knifes and bats and mace and all that shit is going to end up arrested. I know its fucked, but thats how the law works. And once you have a criminal record you can't go travelling that easily (especially the states) so as a dj or producer that wouldn't be a very smart move at all

The way I did was also a form of vigilantism but it was more slick and undercover. I got those bastards the right way by getting the cops I pay taxes for to arrest them. I didn't have to confront them, the cops did. I just made sure they found them.

I'm all for vigilantism.

Obviously, there can be issues with 'abuse of power' but if you get a good well-principled crew together, who don't necessarily need weapons either, then you could create some change in the streets. There are ways of reducing the risk of getting arrested, after all isn't the problem that there aren't enough cops and control? Those asshole crack-heads and wannabe gangstahs get away with shit all the time anyway ...

At least a group of real citizens would know more about the trouble in the streets. We're at street level, y'know, so we have a very good idea of which corners, areas, and places are more dangerous and/or causing problems. We don't need to be called in order to act ...

The only problem with fighting violence with violence, is knowing when to stop, to make sure that you relax before becoming a problem yourself. The other problem, unfortunately, is that typical Batman / Joker 'you created me, I created you' paradigm; like, maybe ending up with 'anti anti-gang gangs' ...

Still, getting a small group together, pinpointing a few of the worst areas, cleaning up a bit for a couple of weeks/months, then stepping back to see if it helped, seems like a worthwhile plan.
I'm feeling you up right now..

Tako: Last thing you wanna do in a knife fight is stab.
My advice, and a pretty educated one is, slice, never poke.
Primo: More apparent gore will freak out your oponnent, and minimal internal damage.
It's funny how a slash actually hurts more than a stab.

You don't wanna kill the fucker. Oh, and NEVER USE YOUR OWN KNIFE, weaponry should be acquired by disarming oponent. :)

Nathan, all you have to do is go down there between 3:30 and 4 AM. I can garantee you just walking from McKay to Guy on St Catherine, you'll see at least someone who's getting assaulted or just been assaulted

They do it on the side of the Macdonalds where McKay is, always happens as soon as the people are exiting the restaurant.

All those guys you see standing around in front kindof doing nothing are involved for the most part, although its hard to tell until the assault happens.

I'm planning on making some flyers or some posters or something like that just to warn people to be careful
