but i can tell you also that he has good conversation, it's not like all he does is take pics. first time i met him we just spoke for like 30 minutes, and it was actually really interesting.

i don't believe in the age thing. i often end up liking men that are at least 10 years older than me... and i can go on a bigger age difference than that. it's not creepy, i just connect better in that way. the age thing, really, it's a teaching from our culture. thinking that some age gap is wrong, and some is right... really, who are we to judge?

any relationship can be a great experience, no matter how old or how young the people are. it's just different dynamics between people, and in the end if everyone is consenting, it's all good... only thing is i would not go on anyone who is younger than 18, just because of the law troubles it can potentially bring...

Quite a few of us are crossing that 30 bridge soon :S

My GF is 24, does that make me evil for dating someone that's not my age? I couldn't go for someone much younger though.

It's not a straight line. Want it or not, people from ages 16 to 22-24 (some take longer) undergo several huge changes, all which will affect them and others around. Maturity hasn't always set in and growing up still occurs, in leaps and bounds. Being in a relationship where one goes through this process and one has gone through it ages ago most often results in problems, hardships and so on.

To be blunt, the older person often ends up blaming the younger one for his or her inexperience/immaturity and this often causes relationship issues. I think this is the big problem with age differences.

Morally, I also think that an adult should let a teenager fully mature before attempting to have a intimate relation. There is something creepy in attempting to "raise" a girlfriend or boyfriend; you'll usually find that the older partner in this case is either at the same maturity level (has never progressed past teenagehood) or a very controlling person. These are other reasons why such couplings are frowned upon. There are exceptions to this, of course, as there is in everything. I once met a couple where the girl was 18 and the guy was 35. They're still together today, 8 years later.

As people age, the age difference becomes less and less important. A difference 24-30 isn't as potentially dangerous as a 16-22 difference, for instance. We reach a certain "wisdom plateau".

For the tl;dr people, I think the main reason why these relationships are seen as creepy, is that underaged people are more vulnerable to adult influences and thus the older partner will often have the possibility of abusing this influence. The fact that exceptions exist doesn't change the fact that many underaged partners have been mentally abused in this fashion...

or the younger person is not at the same level in life...
at 30 some are ready to have kids and settle down (biological clock ticking), while their 20-something partner still wants to party. i've lived this and seen it happen often.

but having sex with someone does not mean establishing a couple relationship. sometimes it can be just that - sex. and enjoy the older partner because they have some experience :)

+ 10000000
And this is why I don't date under 24 anymore. haha

(Though of course the learning process should be ongoing throughout one's life, but early adulthood is something else.)
