the guy who gave me my first turntable in 1995, was also selling his tech 12's at the time, cuz he just bought a new cd mixing unit...

it's sad, but it was only a matter of time.

who really cares anyways... there will be someone selling a pair for years and years to come.

worst comes to worst, you can just buy a pair of some other kind of tables...

the day you can't find a pair of tech 12's to buy, is by far the day you are too old to care.
I'm feeling like a sketchbook! right now..

they also last forever...tech 12's are like tanks so long as you don't spill beer on them or something equally stupid your turntables will work for like 25 years...
I'm feeling surly right now..

my decks still work perfect, bought them in 1996, only had the lights break and had to replace a broken wire, other than that they work fine to this day

one of the best investments I ever made

although if they do stop making them completely, the rarity will probably make them very expensive to come by in the future.
I'm feeling sunshine right now..

I used to be a huge advocate for using only vinyl, but the way things are rolling these days if you can't adapt, gtfo of the game. Period.

You're DJ's, stand and deliver or go home.

I saved up and bought mine brand new - summer 99. I didn't even have a system yet - didn't have many records or know how to dj at all - lol. I just wanted to motivate myself for later. so they just sat in their boxes for a few months until I moved to Toronto.. I think the final bill was 1350.00 - after tax - from Steve's Music for the pair. nowadays with craiglist and the internet finding gear is easy, but back then in Hamilton used 1200s were very hard to come by, so buying them new made more sense

but it was money well-spent! I've had those same decks since then - the only thing wrong with em is the little cue lights burned out after a year or two. they still work great. <3 my 1200s

ya man - my techs are indeed like tanks... and I have actually seen a beer get knocked off a ledge and spill all over a turntable while the guy was spinning.. hehe. that was a bit of a vibe-killer

I have an old Technics SL-230. Not made for DJing though, but it plays like a charm :)
I'm feeling like sushi for breakfast right now..
