I guess many DJs here would accept to explain and show you the basics for free... takes one hour! The never-ending practice is then only yours to perform ;)

Yep, I was trained by some "pros" but ended up learning nothing from them, and all of it by myself. |

Then borrow a mixer a till I can throw down the cash for my Empath mixer. And order my SL-3 from rane. Then I can finally start. All in all, not bad, I'll have dropped in range of $2k for gear. But totally worth it. So to answer your question... it's coming :)

IT will sound super geek ,but i learn the basics in a dj book. Step by step, i was doing the exercises and like everyone said.. PRACTICE practice and practice! The book was talking not only about beatmatching, but lots lots of essentiel thing! Anyway! Maybe that could help you! But i've always been an autodidact person!! I didn't like the way guys were trying to explain meeee. Anyway :) geeeeeek melodrastik! now you all know my secret haha

...oh... and if you plan on using vinyl and turntables - it *really* helps if you know how to do a lot of the basic technical things like properly balancing a tone-arm, knowing what the anti-skate does (and how to properly adjust it)...

If it's the same thing I read, it's DJing For dummies. It's actually really well written and it's a great manual for what and how to do almost everything you need to get started.. There's a PDF floating around, highly recommended!
