im pretty sure O.G. garage was dub versions of house tunes, pitched to +8 or something. yo, im not trying to be contradictory here, but the full on "Rusko cheese" esthetic shares a really close parallel with the "HHC cheese" esthetic. id even go so far as to say this parallel is uncanny. |

look at it this way, you can use the same cheese to make two completely different meals. you can probably even extend this metaphore and say that all the same ingrediants can make two completely different meals. this beeing said, i can hear a similar esthetic in the two sounds, even though thay are completely different. Rusko: Camembert Rusko still sounds a bit more mature, IMO. But yeah, I do agree that most dubstep tunes end up souding childish. To be honnest, most music feels that way to me. Keep in mind that 95% of electronic music is made by people who can't think outside the box and end up making the same thing again and again. |
