 Coolness: 129955 | Not all breaks are electronic BTW, but most breaks in hip hop are (except for guys like the roots who use a live drummer)
The "original" breaks were taken from funk and rock n roll records, which were performed by live muscicians It was 2 HIP HOP djs in particular who pioneered "breakbeat" djing, that was Kool Herc (godfather of breaks, also one of the godfathers of hip hop) and Afrika Bambaataa (considered as one of the godfathers of hip hop and the godfather of electro) These 2 guys would take the "breaks" or particularily funky parts of tracks and go back in forth on the turntables to create a "new" continuous groove consisting of the best parts of those tracks...thats hows breaks djing was born With the sampler, they then just started programming the beats in and looping the breaks electronically Thats why when you go into record stores you see those records in the hip hop bin that say "20 freshest battle breaks" or "100 dope breaks" etc...and its all instrumentals, thats stuff is for the producers or cats to rap over |

for what was suppsosed to be a psycore night but it was also a westside girls birthday so we had to blend cheesy shit with hardtekno,Na killed it with a great rmx of sean paul it was great ;) |
