3 ppl told me he made everyone wait 2 hours, then played a short half-assed set.

Anyone got any other horror stories to tell?

I went to his concert in calgary 6 years ago I think. He did a short ass set, didnt rap well, handed out backstage passes to a bunch of what looked to be underaged girls...and I thought Choclair, the opener, outperformed snoop.

He also tried this shit where he was like "When I say Snoop, you say dawg. Aight? When I say snoop you say dawg." And then it was all like;

Snoop: Snoop

Crowd: (Silent)

Snoop: Snoop

Crowd: Silent

Snoop: Come on, when I say snoop, you say dawg. Snoop

Crowd: Silent

.....this contineud for a while, and then he left, ending his performance early. No one really seemed to care that much. No real noise was even made for an encore.
I'm feeling a message in a bottl right now..

old Snoop was the bomb. Dr. Dre - the Chronic in 92, and then Snoop's first album in 93 are amazing

anything after that.... meh. I'll pass

ya there is some good stuff out there still. I really love battling too - crazy talented battle MCs out there. shit they come up with is unreal. doesn't mean they would be able to make a good record, but they are very good entertainers

this is my type of old hip hop -> and if you check at 1:25, you see a young J-Lo as one of the dancers in the vid =)

I remember taping this off Rap City in like 92 - watching that DJ scratch made me want to get decks so bad

just thought I should add this. first time I got introduced to Snoop - pretty sure most people too - cuz I think it was his intro cut2.

when I watched Deep Cover with Lawrence Fishburne.. it played at the very end of the movie with the credits. when I heard Snoop come in with his verse i went out and bought it the next day.

that early shit, Snoop and the Dogg Pound with Dre doing the beats, was the bomb. from what I understand their hardcore lyrics were ghostwritten by Suge Knight's gang-banging buddies... those MCs weren't actually that gangsta.. they were scared of Suge and all his goons.. but regardless, the Chronic is one of the best hip hop LPs ever.

I don't know what he does now, and I'm sure a lot of his later material is ghostwritten for him by hungry producers trying to get put on... but Dre is a musical genius. right up there with the Bombsquad, Muggs, Premier.

dude big up. I like Choclair. only I gotta say not that stuff so much. I'm super picky. I like the rugged soulful shit when artists are still underground and hungry. I personally don't like it when they start getting guided by labels to do more polished, club-friendly shit

lol. one of the first records i bought was a Freaky Flow remix of some track he did. Shizzknocka or something. haha. I sold it. pretty weak release from both of em. but at the time Freaky Flow was huge and people thought Choclair was gonne be *the guy* from Toronto who was about to blow up. never happened though

this is the tune that got me into him. sick sick tune. Premier put it on a mixtape when it came out. sounds kinda Primo-ish too. I love it.

tune. pure Toronto style. there are talented producers and MCs there. I just wish they'd try and be themselves and not try to copy the States. much of the Toronto hip hop I see on youtube is all gangbanging crips and bloods bigging up their hoods. total hardcore thug shit with minimal talent. who the fuck cares how hard you are if the fucking track is no good?

thats cool man but im not into the JAZZY hiphop side of things! tho i have to admit it has its own category and I respect it a lot even tho im not into it. That being said Choclair has tremendous lyrical skills and im sad that he didnt blow up like he shouldve .

First off,Stop calling us cunts, we've all accepted the fact that you have to be a student to go, and no one here is jealous of you dipshit.
6 ppl are now telling me his show was horrible and they're boycotting his music. Just shut up,you live in your moms basement for fuck sake, there are real shows out the for ppl other than concordia students that you probably can't afford to attend, so wtv FREELOADER. You aren't special, get real.

Also just because you heard songs from an album that came out while you were still suckin on your ba-ba doesn't make you cool, it makes you a poser who's about 15 years too late, the nostalgia is dead chump, too bad you don't see it with your nubile poser eyes. Go listen to your Chingy cd and think before you talk, especially if you wanna converse with the big dogs.
