1. I got an idea! How about you 'renegade stagers' bring your sound system to somewhere, I dunno, NOT 4 hours away, and pay, I dunno, NOTHING. And mix for your friends for, I dunno, FREE!

2. Risking gear, paying for gas for the generator, setting up, mixing, and then, if your smart, watching your gear to make sure nothing bad happens to it. Not to mention paying for gas for the car, driving up, convincing friends to pay to help you carry your stuff and set up and then dance to your music. OH and for your troubles, full price at the door! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Show me a killer line up and i'll stfu. But then, hey, if there's a killer line up, who's going to have time and energy to set up their OWN gear and mix their own beats... Something's not right there...
Don't get me wrong, I think the idea is interesting, but you can set up a sound system and play for free near Tam Tam's every weekend. see number 1.

Now here's another inefficiency. Let's say you get a sick renegade stage set up and tons of awesome DJs make it out and spin up a storm. You need to promote that shit cause it's obviously a huge PLUS for your party. But you can't promote that shit cause you don't know if it's going to happen cause renegade stages aren't going to be planned enough, right?

Ok let's say they ARE planned for and then you DO promotion. This is a renegade stage, there's like 50% chance that someone backs out, BAM no (generator/mixer/amp/cdj/turntable), or someone's gear breaks, BAM one CDJ, or it rains and the renegaders didn't bring a giant tent, BAM no renegade stage. But you promoted it cause it was planned --> people payed to see it, but there's nothing there ---> pissed off renegade loving ripped off raver/'old guy/girl who wants to feel young again'.

Double trouble yo.

how to solve the problem? Book Dj Psydraulix, I hear he's a sure shot ;)

No I don't mean any disrespect, but knock down my arguments and you'll have a much more solid event.
I'm feeling hype right now..

WEMF's line-up didn't showed up until 1 month before the party ;)

Oh and by the way Mr.Psydraulix, the concept of a renegade stage is adding a crew of not-booked DJs to play at a party they're not booked.
If you want to do it, you do it at your own risks and fees because guess what, you weren't booked at this party anyway! You're just some people attending the party who thinks they can add the their little salt piece to the party. That's how the concept of a renegade stage works, period.

Ok and?
WEMF is dead. There's no more! There's nothing to replace.
Instead of crying that there's no WEMF, they actually do something on their own to at least keep the party going.
Radar Alliance is the first possible collaboration in Quebec's province and they try their best to deliver one of the sickest party in the province.
The line-up of Radar Alliance is worth going. Trust me.

Sometime you need to stop living in the past, let it go and watch how it's going to be.

i never went to wemf, i dont care much about big outdoor parties, just stating that they didnt need to annonce their lineup cuz of their past reputation, and since radar alliance is doing it for the first year, its not the name or reputation that will attract ppl, its the lineup!

I concede. You have a point there.
But still, as one of the promoters told me, the line-up is coming soon so there won't be criticisms about "not having a line-up".

K first of all I totally understood all of that from the very beginning. I can't see why you need to mention that again, it's freaking clear aight!?

Second of all, I was totally speaking for myself and not as DJ Psydraulix. I mentioned myself as a DJ because I do me absolute best to always play killer tunes and mix 'em as harmoniously as possible. So really, it's never a bad idea to include me unless Psytrance is out of the question, which is fine, to each his own damn it!

Thirdly, way to put down your clientele:
"If you want to do it, you do it at your own risks and fees because guess what, you weren't booked at this party anyway! You're just some people attending the party who thinks they can add the their little salt piece to the party."
If I were planning on attending and bringing my 'little salt piece' to your party, I'd say 'fuck you for belittling me, you can take your renegade stage and shove it' right about now.

However, I am not planning on attending, muchless spinning at your event. For fuck's sake I don't even know what style or DJs ARE booked at your event. How the hell would I know if I wanted to come or not...
Get this through your head, you are organizing an electronic music event (right?!), you're not going to attract ANYONE until you promote some freakin' electronic music! At least announce your headliner to build some hype.

Now don't misunderstand me like so many non anglos on this board tend to do. I wish y'all well and if you had replied with anything less than an INSULT to anyone planning a renegade stage, you'd have rocketed yourself to much better vibes and thus a much cleaner and better reputation. But instead you repeat the same BS that got people questioning your methods in the first place and throw in some disrespect to the same people you're trying to attract.
Clean up your language, clean up your attitude and for Jesus Joseph & Mary Christ, talk about MUSIC!!!

I realize that the promotion crews are listed and therefor the styles should be expected from their specialties. But I don't know those promoters, and that means that others won't either. Promotion only works when the consumer understands what you are talking about.

And lastly, I am posting in your thread, making it longer and somewhat dramatic, you owe me!! ;)
I'm feeling hype right now..

I still dont agree with the idea of paying to bring sound6tm do u guys have any clue to what it costs bringing yuor rig to an event... Atleast 1000$ Pffff never mind buying all the equipment... we bought a soundsytem generator light effects projector etc much more = thousands of dollars....
Again we organise full of free parties all summer and have been since 2003 every summer we meet europian dj/producers/party people who perform on our stage. They find us because we are one of the 2 soundsystems that exist here in mtl also we are way more known through out europe than here in our own city!
I believe the more sound6tms attending means more fun... Fuck the debeating idea... It doesnt happen if you set up in respect to other stages...
Mtl mentality is far behind the europian mentality...
