bal en blanc is to raves and rave music what Q92 is to heavy metal.

I just don't know why someone would pay over 100$ to listen to the electronica equivalent of Q92. Go to Rewire instead. This year will be my third year running, and Vinny has yet to dissapoint.

Spare yourself some time and a hefty ticket fee - it's definitely not worth it, and by judging by the way you reacted around the board here at first, you'd totally freak out and either kill someone, or run away within your first 10 minutes there. Been working a shift with GRIP last year at the bal en blanc. Worst Experience EVER.

I met a girl the other night that was like: "If Resolution isn't a rave, I don't know what is."
Then I gave her a flyer. | |

IMO the main stereotype about raves and ravers is that were brain-damaged humans, who dress in fur and kandi, dance with glow sticks for 10 hours straight, take e/Speed/K, and have un-protected sex on the dance-floor.
People don`t realize that at least half the people at raves aren`t on drugs, and its a social/sub-culture where the socializing is just as big as the music/dance aspect of it. Most ravers only wear sparse amounts of kandi/fur, don`t dance with glowsticks, and have their sex outside of the dancefloor (on people`s lawn, in alley ways, on the sides of buildings, in the corners, in the bathroom stalls, and in their cars).

Thank-you :)
What are raves like in the phillipines? Do they have any rave types we don`t have here (Costumes and such), or do we have any they dont have there?

Actually - there is no such thing as a Rave in the Philippines.
There used to be a scene back in the 90's but not anymore. The closest thing you'll get are all night clubs playing House/Trance packed with clubbers. ..... I miss hardcore :( Actually, there is no scene of any kind here. It's all part of the Filipino culture/mentality where you just don't ask questions, and you don't stray away from the mainstream. It's just not done.

Even if my bike gets stolen, I stay calm. I just hunt down the crackhead who did it, and rob it back. No freaking out necessary. There's usually no point in having a fit. Being in a big crowd of idiots is not a good enough reason for me to go nuts and kill someone, or else I'd do that every day. XD An anarchaic breakdown of law/society WOULD be a good reason to kill someone though. :D And if someone took my vegan banana split: Mise À Jour » Vegan a écrit sur Wed 4 Feb, 2009 @ 12:37am hmm you don't need drugs to dance for 10 hours. I don't see what's bad about dancing for 10 hours anyways, some people are just fit and happy to dance for that long.

Like eventually Ill settle with it if she wont put out, or give me oral, or even just anal. But there definately some conflict during the negotiation stage. But at the end of the day, I guess its still the worst of a pretty good set of outcomes

You can hardly breathe in this mass of people grinding on each other, so forget about spinning anything. Originally Posted By VEGANNIBAL

Hmm I go to raves to dance, not grind. Cuddle puddles are grand but meaningless dance-floor jizz sessions aren't as appealing to me. I just thought of something else raves are stereotyped with: danger, violence. It's such crap. For every raver that gets hurt/killed per capita, I guarantee it happens 50 times more often in the bar scene. In several years I have been to one party where someone got hurt, ONE. I go to a variety of parties, the vast majority of which have little or no alcohol. I've done a lot of street performing for the bar crowd in different cities and I've seen so much idiotic drunken violence that it's not funny anymore (at first I thought it was hilarious).

See, you made that fatal mistake of thinking that Bal en Blanc was a rave. It's not. At best it's a 12 hour long club night. At worst, it's everything ravers stand against.

I don't think that raves are branded as dangerous due to violence, it's mostly the association with drugs.
