Fortunately, Internet memes are limited to their environment. There's billions of people who won't ever come across the internet or even a computer. If anything, they are an annoyance.
I would be more concerned about infectious memes. For example, the idea of a god, which itself can replicated and become dangerous memeplexes.
It's relatively a new subject and not without criticisms and controversy. |
