 Coolness: 229670 | Does anyone really think he named the film pola why beacuse hes got a crush on her or something, i doubt it, and the word pola means a lot more or less than you want or need it to, depending on how you read letters, and symbolic conotation.

So thus pola means "kin is there" There are other ways to look at it, but this is just one. As for "pink" or p-in-k or p-ink etc. Thers a lot of ways ot look at it as well. I thought from pink popos comment she was just joking, being roughly sarcastic in a jab jab sorta way, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with the name or the content or the man doing it all, he's a super nice guy, kind and thoughful and definately hard working, he's spent lots of time on this film and I'm proud of him and believe in his motives. good on ya man! Keep the name. |

The way I look at it is that there's this girl who's involved in the Montreal rave scene, and her name is Pola. She also goes by Pink-Popo, and that there's this guy, who's making a movie who's title incorporates her name. If it's fiction, then there should be a disclaimer. If she wishes that the name of the film should be changed because it makes her uncomfortable, she has a right to that. None of my business, really. But the whole thing is sketchy, to say the least. |

... right. LMKFOROLF Respect your muse, destructiva. Many of artists used invented names for their paints, portrait or nude of a subject. -Based on true events. (the classical shit, emily rose wasent called emily rose and so on). I don't know if all this is a trick. But if you want it to be ''constructive'' and ''fun'' you should do it in by the book, with values and convictions. In our present case, Pola pinkpopo is cleary associate with the title. And she's clearly *not* amuses by this obvious fact. I don't know on wich scale of creation ethics is ok to go, but if for, your - magnificient - art surpasses, bypass her agreement to do so, it's all up to you. |

 Coolness: 685585 | nope, anything that has anyone on camera has to have the permission of the people filmed if it's going to be distributed in some way. If someone films you directly, they have to have your permission to distribute your image, and anyone who happens to be filmed but doesn't want their image distributed has to be un-identifiable.
So, everyone that he doesn't have permission to film, either in recorded form (like on video) or in written form, has to be told they're going to be in a movie and be given the option to be cut/censored/blurred out. |

That is only if you make money from it... I second Screwhead on that. It's not true at all. A release form or waiver is used to bind material from the person cast/shown on film, to the film maker. That is, unless he has a signed release form from the person, the film maker can and will most likely be sued if he edits, releases or manipulates the material in any shape or form. At this moment, Destructiva has made no release form. Money or not, he is generating content out of it, even going so far as "borrowing" user pictures on [ rave.ca ] for his posters (I've seen one of Shindy and I'm pretty sure Destructiva never asked for the pic). The fact that he is doing this outside of the community, even with the disapproval of some of the members and even from people he previously interviewed and the fact that he won't remove "POLA" from the title, even though it was stated properly from Destructiva, Moloch and later on Pola, that the title HAD TO DO WITH POLA... It reeks of shit. I remember the first few videos, he asked some of the people if they knew Pink Popo. So this "Pola can be anyone" is utter bullshit.
