and if so, does anyone have a phone number they can be reached at? internet search provided a number which no longer works

I dont even know if they are open, or in the business of buying used vinyl.. but I have some that I want to sell locally and thought I`d try them. would like to get in touch with em first so I know what styles they may or may not be interested in.

thx in advance

I've known Dan for over 10 years,

He's one of the most decent people I know and a family man,

I'm pretty offended by your comment Host,

Anyhow

Death Of Vinyl is situated on St Laurent, shortly after the Canadian Tire (before Beaubien on the right hand side). Its on the second floor. Lots of dope cheap vinyl and cool staff. Please support these guys they're good people.

Wow, It just goes to show how uninformed you are.
So maybe you've known him for 10 years, and maybe he's a family man, what does that change man?
You still act like a bitch sometimes too man, so its' no wonder you would stick up for a lazy two faced asshole like Dan. And I'm not the only person who's had problems with him regarding botched agreements. The only thing this guy is good at is passing the buck and lying through his teeth.
So Fuck Death Of Vinyl. Weak cunts.

Digital is taking over, so good riddance, they're gonna feel it where it really hurts soon enough.

That was uncalled for,

I'm a lot more informed than you my friend,

They've always been straight with me and I used to manage a record store that dealt directly with them,

I have literally THOUSANDS of records I've bought there,

They even brought in the Hatcha and Benga guys last Halloween,

So what if you had a botched agreement you don't need to fucking bitch about it in every Nice thread

Sure why not? I'm never gonna see the money they fucking owe me now am I?
So fuck your 1000 records bro, I would trade 1,000,000 records just to see them
go out of business. Thats a solemn oath.

Fuck loyalty, this is about respect and money.

It's been asked of them, thats why he doesn't advertise here anymore...he's clearly avoiding me.
He's passing the buck like I've never seen anyone do before, he's irresponsible and that's that.

in all my life, more precisely from 1995 to now, i have never seen a record store (lp that is, vinyl store christ) has ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever succedded in ordering special lists unless it was on their distributor list, which most of them never has and they all go down to ville st-laurent/dorval warehouse and get what is given to them.

and i know personnaly lot of record shop owners, they all hate me for ordering online, but they all agree in the end, that since i know what i want, its preferable to act as such.

so a store is for browsing imho.

its a shame , because would it be more like hmv (in quantity, that is, and their ordering system suck) and have a more open take on ordering less on the gear, it would all work for everybody and the hole scene would benifit.

capitalists sucks thou, and its a shame host one if you got mangle in a 3 crossing deal. hope
you got him a cash down receipt and not gone with *his* words.

even mummy's *shes* words i wouldnt trust

Its a 2 way street my friend,

I used to hate pricks that would come into Noize with these long ass special order lists,

So much of it would either be out of print or in such hot demand that all the distributors would be sold out of it

If I did actually manage to find a record they were looking for (after spending an hour of my time searching and ordering it), they'd usually not call back, or tell me they're "broke" this week and put it aside, or they'd buy it somewhere else in the meantime and then leave me stuck with a vinyl I paid for.

The best customers were the "diggers", that is the "true" record shoppers, the ones who look through what the store HAS instead of focusing on what it dosen't have.

My 2 cents
I'm feeling bass heavy right now..

Noize people took my money... Was supposed to have a party there, cops came before it started and said no party cause someone might jump out the window into the grabage bin (bullcrap excuse)... I never got my money back! That was quite a bit of cash, like 750$ or something. They just ran off with it, and I had to pay for another location to do the event at... Organized Confusion it was called... Big loss of cash, good gain for noize... They soon closed up shop.. So... I guess they needed the extra funds or something.

No, Dan played me and Nitrous for dummies after he backed out of renting us his
venue that we payed for in cash. He's a slimy bastard and owes me more than just
a few records. And he talks a good bargain when things are on the up and up for
him, but he just backs out when things get bad, makes promises to people that he
cant back up, ends up pissing a shitload of people off (the entire drum n bass
community to be exact) and in the process got away scot-free with the deposit
money I payed him in cash. The same cash he asked for went to simon rodenchuck
without our permission, sold us to a bunk venue that in turn got me a 6000$ fine
and 1700$ in debt from not being able to make my door money back. Do the math.
He owes me a lot more than 400$ down on his record shop for the night.

Noah, didn't we go over this awhile back,

You gave the owner a $500.00 deposit to rent the space for a party,

The space was ready for use, staff had been hired, the whole store rearranged

The party got busted by the cops,

You didn't get your deposit back,

Don't know the whole story but thats the jist of it

By the way the cops didn't allow the party to happen because some other promoter had tipped them off, not because they were afraid of people jumping out the windows. The windows were completely covered

wow... ok i can understand not wanting to deal with poor ass newbies or little new candies that hear a track into a party and wants it to hang on the wall, but if you cant deal the buizness its not your field.

and that last explaination, i will get rite into it even if it doesnt concern me, guy , noise just took the deposit. thats fucking weak on money... you could have set the bust yourself and ran off, pretty weak , i do deposits only for what i will get.

again lame, *horrybly* lame

True it was 500$...

The party was wasn't busted... The party never even started. We never even got the speakers set up! How can a party be busted before anyone even shows up! Anyways I got over it, I had a lot of money at the time... Easy come, easy go... But it was still lame to keep the whole deposit... The cops didn't blame me for it not happening, they blamed the unsafe location (which was bs). I should have gone after them for that but was too lazy! I'm just saying it's not the first time people don't get their deposits back for a place they rent...
