 Coolness: 86635 | psychopaths/sociopaths are notoriously difficult to treat. they are so manipulative and deceitful by nature that they try to con their way out of everything. they weave this intricate web of lies in order to discredit the people they`ve fucked over and justify themselves. once their cover is blown, they are forced to move on to other social circles where they aren`t known, and the cycle repeats itself. they have no empathy for other humans and no real remorse for their crimes. they may pretend to be remorseful, when they are caught, but it isn`t real remorse - they are just once again trying to weasel their way out of getting busted. they are very adept liars they are not necessarily violent, but quite often are. basically they act on whatever impulse they feel at the moment, and prey on others to survive, with little or no regard of the consequences. I`ve known quite a few over the years, and my best friend from the age of 9 definitely grew up to be a psychopath. I knew him well enough to figure it out, but he also told me he thought he was one too. he was a very charismatic person - everybody loved him. but they didn`t know what an evil snake he could be... he was so good at hiding it. very very very socially intelligent person. about 5 years ago when I was in Toronto - he moved there and told me I could move into the condo he was subletting from his sister. so the night before he was to help me move my stuff, we went out drinking. he borrowed most of my money and promised to pay it back in the morning when he was to cash a cheque, and then he would help me move my stuff. I had to do it that morning because the new tenant was moving their stuff in later that day. so ya he borrows all my cash, drinks all my roommates` Heinikens, promising to replace them, and then gets up in the morning to go have lunch with his parents. he told me he`d be back after lunch, repay me, and drive my stuff to his place. bear in mind this was my best friend who i`d been tight with for 20 years. so ya I sit there waiting for him... call his house and get no answer. finally started to dawn on me that he wasn`t coming back any time soon, and i had to move my stuff out of there pronto, with nowhere to bring it to now. fortunately I had friends not too far`from there who had a spare room so that`s where I went. went by his apartment knocking on the door a couple times - nothing. he was probably hiding on the other side waiting for me to go away. that was 5 years ago, and I have never seen or heard from him since. moral of the story... stay away from psychopaths - they`ll take you for whatever they can get, and and not lose a wink of sleep over it the good news is these pieces of shit inevitably cross the wrong person and wind up badly hurt, dead, or in jail - where they belong =) |
