Coolness: 201180	basdini give linux a shot.. Ubuntu runs well on a lot of laptops and it is perfect for general computing tasks, and is free. You get the same kind of protection against windows crap that you get with a Mac but it costs nothing.. [ www.ubuntu.com ] If you are still in Montreal I can help set it up for you, but it is very easy to use.

Coolness: 685545	well, if you're doing a scan, then it's pretty normal to be high.. It DOES have to go through every single one of your file and cross reference every single bit of data with it's own library of thousands of viruses... Imagine going through every single word on every single page of a foreign-language dictionary (including the definitions) and looking everything up un a whatever-to-english dictionary, one word at a time.. That's pretty much what it's doing..

Coolness: 102720	In a multi-player RTS or FPS game, when someone suddenly lags and it's not a spike, it's often enough an auto-scan from an Anti-Virus soft. Of course, that's doesn't excuse him from being frag to oblivion. I never had trouble with virus/malware/spyware ever; just using Firefox with NoScript and AdBlock plus.

Coolness: 152960	ive used avg for 5 years too, never had a problem, i formatted recently and didnt put any anti-virus up to last week i thought getting avg back might be a good idea, so i got it and scanned, and i didnt have any virus from 2 months of web browsing without any anti-virus avast is bad cause it ALLWAYs scans something. which slows the pc down. avg doesnt, it doesnt slow anything. and bassdini, if you use a cracked version of XP, then i suggest when you re-format, when you will be ready to do the windows update, do them automatically, but choose instead of "recommended" choose "personalised", then chek for the "microsoft genuine advantage update" and unchek it and select never do this update. ive been forking on the same copy of XP since maybe 4 years, never a any single problem. but dont wonder why you got a virus if you search for porn in google and click every site it gives you... btw, have you put windows firewall on? btw 2, you say you "reinstalled windows" but did you format, if you didnt, chances is that the "virus" is still there and active but cant be detected because its not installed in your new "windows" instalation.

	I'm feeling hardcore right now..
