 Coolness: 75655 | I don't know whether there's enough traffic to warrant adding a forum... maybe just a name change to Music: Mixing, Production & Technology. Unless you think a dedicated mixes forum is necessary.
As for hotlinking... I've just been directing people to the url for the 'extra information' page. I figure it brings a bit of extra traffic to the site, as opposed to just direct linking to the file so people can right-click-save without even dropping in. |

 Coolness: 685575 | A mixes section could be cool, no need for people to go trawling through all of the current music section if they're just looking for a quick fix on what the locals are putting out.. It'll centralise things a lot and make it easier/faster for people to find stuff! |

Most people, I assume, are already used to looking for, and posting their mixes in this section, and this is one part of the website that probably gets as much traffic as the News Section.  Coolness: 299310 | how about if a mp3 link is posted in a thread in the mixes forum, a little icon appears next to the thread so you dont have to actually open the thread to download it? that would make it a lot faster. Sometimes i just need music, not endless pages of Bliss saying he is better than everyone else |

How about this system : put all mixes in one section. Everyone's coming up with fruity ways to separate mixes from regular threads in this section that requires extensive coding, recognition systems and complicated ways to post a mix that requires the poster to identify their mix properly so it's displayed accordingly on here. Some peeps aren't smart enough to post their mix in THIS section instead of the General Discussions board, how are they going to manage posting their mixes HERE, using a special mix posting system created for THIS SECTION alone ? Don't take this wrong but it sounds like a LOT of work for not much. That is my 2 cents. |
