OCTOBER 2008 was confirmed through The Hollywood Reporter that 20th Century Fox had bought the rights to bring the game to film in early 2003.[13] The Max Payne movie is being directed by John Moore. Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis[14] have been confirmed by Fox to play the roles of Max Payne and Mona Sax, respectively. Production began in 2008.[15] The movie will be produced by Collision Entertainment and Firm Films in Toronto,[16] and began filming in the Toronto Transit Commission's unused tunnel. Beau Bridges and Chris O'Donnell are also confirmed to have roles as B.B. Hensley and Jason Colvin, respectively. Rapper Ludacris, according to Yahoo! Movies, will be playing the role of Jim Bravura.[17] According to Fox Movies website, the film will be released on October 17, 2008.[18] [ www.imdb.com ] |

What I find surprising is that they do movies of games that weren't even THAT popular. Do a fucking Starcraft or WoW movies just for kicks and see how many people will go see that movie. You won't even need to cast any well known actors. You know Hollywood has got its head buried deep in the sand when they can't figure out that it's NOT necessary to cast popular movie stars that DON'T EVEN LOOK THE PART and know how to act to get people to go see that movie. There are enough gamers in the world to draw them to the theater... ...unless you make a shitty movie. |

| Coolness: 70320 | FOr my part, Max Payen is such a good game, with a good narrative that feels like a movie (like Metal Gear) that it doesn't need a movie based on it.
And it's probably cuz i just don't like Mark Whalberg that i'm pissed about this :P. But as long as Uwe Boll is not involved, there might not be a place to panic.... |
