Will Smith cannot act. When Will Smith is in a movie, you're not going to watch him act a character, you're going to see Will Smith, as Will Smith, in a Will Smith Movie. He's going to play a character who's inoffensive to white people by not being all "Shit nigga, lookit dat foo", but have just enough of a tough black attitude to not come off as Carleton.

Adam Sandler is the same thing; He doesn't act. He CAN'T act. All he can do is be loud and obnoxious with his nasal voice, make the occasional jewish joke at his own expense, and at some point in the movie he's going to do that whole 'laugh a little and then scream all pissed-off like "SHUT THE HELL UP!" at whoever made a joke about him' bullshit that he does in every single movie.

Geh! Tinay Fey and Colin Quinn! Conan O'Brien! All of these were part of SNL.... strangely, all funny OUTSIDE of SNL. The 90s were stifling to good comedians.

I think that Andy Samberg (Lazy Sunday, Punched While Eating, etc) is a pretty funny guy, now. Him and Bill Hader.

it's Tim Meadows :)

...and yeah, SNL has it's ups and downs...

ignoring why anyone would need to know the names of famous actors (if they're famous, shouldn't you already know them?) here's a few: Sylvester Stalone, Jeff Bridges, Johnny Dep, Kathy Bates, and, of course, Godzilla (he's been in plenty of movies!)...

mehh, I can't really stand any of them (especially conan)

I dunno, I was a teenager durring the 90s, but when it comes to comedy, I was raised on the old George Carlin, Bill Cosby, Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Chevy Chase.. THOSE are comedians; almost everything from the 90s onwards is just not as inteligent or funny I find.

Problem is, nowadays only George Carlin remains funny (in your list). I mean... have you paid attention to the latest crap from Eddie Murphy or Robin Williams? And Chevy Chase isn't doing anything anymore :(

Thank goodness Bill Murray still does. And Dan Akroyd!

Anwyay. It is sad when SNL's greatest moments of the 90s have to do with guest stars (i.e Christopher Walken) and not your actual cast.

yeah, recently there really aren't too many good comedians. Russel Peters is like the indian Eddie Murphy though.. maybe a little less vulgar.. And, granted he's a ventriloquist, but Jeff Dunham is hillarious..

I dunno, maybe I'm getting old, but I don't find most comedy these days to be all that entertaining; it's just really something designed to apeal to the lowest common denominator, and that's people acting like retards and making stupid noises and voices without putting any actual thought into what they're saying.

Well, Dylan Moran was part of a few movies with Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead and Run Fatboy Run, for instance). He's really a standup comedian, though. And he's mostly drunk through his monologues and they are awesome!

The Spaced TV show (again, Pegg/Frost/Wright) is EXCELLENT.
