Or like Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man, but with imdb facts instead of phone numbers!
Well. Eric Stolz was cast as Masty McFly in Back to the Future, after Michael J Fox was unable to film due to his contract with Family Ties. After filming most of the movie, they realized that Stolz was no good. They begged Fox and the network and Fox agreed to do it, working seven days a week (he'd tape Family Ties during the week and Back to the Future on weekends). Because of this, they also had to replace the girlfriend because she was a few inches taller than Fox. There are many scenes in which Stolz is still present if you have an HD version of the movie. Particularly, the shot of Marty driving the Delorean after Doc's been shot with Lybians is actually Stolz, from far. |
