It's also very unfair for the landloard to try to get you to pay it all at once... chances are though, that if he came after you to pay it all, and you braught him to the regi, they would probably sympathise with your situation. |

They have separate bills from their for your share of the usage. They've got proof, you've got wishful thinking. A responsible guy would have woken up one day, thought: "hmmm I never got a hydro bill, how strange !", would have asked around and would have solved this before he got billed one huge lump sum. Since you didn't, I guess that's what they call a life lesson, eh ? |

who's name was on the hydro bill? you might want to call a lawer on this one due to some grey area if the bill is under someone elses name, mind you... if if you do get outta of it due to a technicality... its still kinda pricky. |

If the your name is indeed on the bill and your landlord paid it , well you really aren't legally required to pay him. I think it would be the right thing to do but legality and morals don't always coincide. But honestly man , how the fuck can you not pay 2 months of power. What is the bill ? like 200$ ? you need a loan ? |

| Coolness: 70240 | I'm thinking the landlord's name must be on the bill, otherwise they wouldn't have paid it. But they most likely have something saying what bill corresponds to what part of the building, as well as the lease stating what part of the building they were occupying.
I'd just STFU, pay the 2-3 months and hope that they don't catch up on the 2 years you mentionned. But then again, if you do pay and they realize later that you owe them those 2 years, you pretty much admitted that you were responsible for the bill... fun, fun |
