Agreed!... to a certain extent... I've been part of the rave scene since september 2005... all I know about raver history is what people tell me about it: "things were better back then and more people came out and the parties were better for all sorts of reasons..." I hear the music... I like today's music better, I hear of what became of most of the people that were there in the old days and I'd rather stick with everyone that survived... I go out to parties and I dont understand whats dead about raves... I would really like to understand what exactly has changed and how is today's scene bad enough for people to say its somehow dead! teach me oh rave history month! |

Im all for living in whatever reality you want, but for christs sake, get a hold of yourself from time to time and realize that drugs and parties are not LIFE, that there is more to life than those things, granted this website is dedicated to the "culture" but I think taking it to extremes like declaring a month or wutever is complete idiocy... there are so many other causes that would justify months or days than the cause of the "rave"...

i don't think rave is dead. maybe changed, i don't know, i was not there in 1996 or whatever. but it is certainly not dead, it is just new-school. and even the new school will eventually become oldschool, with time and change. dancing celebrations are there since, well, a long time ago. it is natural to humankind to gather and dance to the beat of the drums, or the machines. it is natural to look for this ecstatic experience, and to do it until sunrise, and to feel almost a sense of the sacred. to me that is the essence of the rave. call it what you want... if you think rave is dead, maybe it's just you that is dead to the rave. and that's ok, i mean, you pass on to something else. but there will always be dancing, and there will always be music, and there will always be positive vibes, and there will always be people looking for that kind of intensity. |

unfortunately candy is making a comeback Raves are for 18-23 yr ols who are out on their own for the first time, andf trying to identify with something. Then you become jaded, and tired of bright colours and elmo back packs and start apprecitaing the music. Raves are for drugged up party kids The scene is for the rest of us! |
