 Coolness: 47510 | I havent been playing in rave often. but believe me, the part in the no request is EXACTLY about doing a progression in my set, everytime I am dj somewhere, there is a concept behind my set with a progression in it and special requests (in clubs and bars ) are what is killing it |

i don't think requests are that bad providing the person making the request is at least in touch with the music they are listening to or the format of the event... like a few years ago when the freestylers dropped that push up track... i'd have cute girls come and request it at every gig i played and it always went over really well... and it felt good to make ppl happy. mind you... i've got some pretty stupid requests as well... at kunta one time some underage slutbag started DEMANDING i play some r&b... that didn't happen too fast... the worst was this summer i played at an afterhours in the maritimes it was like 4 in the morning... and i just dropped this metallica boot and some chick taps me on the shoulder to request nelly fuckin' fertado... like my god bitch... are you really that fuckin' stupid? as far as the producers should be dj's crap... many already are dj's as well as live musicians... whats fuckin' whack though is producers who don't dj and don't play live yet think they could do a dj's job without any prior experience to playing for a croud. the big difference that alot of ppl don't realise is that a dj isn't there to play for himself... and most bedroom producers make music for themselves and want to expose ppl to it so they end up more likely to make the mistake of dropping things at the wrong time and messing up the flow of a night. |

and my stuff is way better than an average bedroom producer, i mean its been 3 years since i produce, and i hear stuff getting released on big labels that is pure crap and i do a lot better than that ... ive been making/playing music since im 6 ... but hey, i dont lick promoter's ass so im never booked so nobody will never know ... |
