trust me dude... you really don't wann know what kinda sick shit i'm capable of...

as far as mixing records...

i think breakbeat dj's whether its hip hop, dnb, nuskool or skool whatever, have one up on techno/ trance dj's because you have to much more versitile and there is less room for error.

like c'mon fuck... at the top of our genre we have guys like CRAZE... and at the top of your genre you have girls like tiesto...

i rest my case...

yeah, it's not like anything at 140-150bpm 4/4 kick is that hard to mix, considering that most dnb has 64th note hihats @ 172+ bpm. Waaaaaaaaaay more going on in 1 bar that could go wrong, as opposed to "whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom *sci-fi movie sample* whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom whoom *another sci fi movie sample*"

hahaha seriously, after mixing DnB, it's not like anything else isn't easy as fuck to mix. Hell, last week I played a half hour of hard acid on our radio show after not even listening to the records for 6-7 months (I'd forgotten them at Charlie's place) and it was so simple!

IMO theres no room for error when mixing any genre.. I used to mix Jungle for a few years before I got into psy and ill give it to you the nature of it is somewhat more challenging.. I personally use alot of what I learned back then today when I approach mixing psy today, No excuses for lazy ass dj's and it really sucks to see the recognition alot of djs get based on anything but true talent. peace -K

that isnt a challenge, a challenge would be to have YOU scratch over your psytrance shit...and Mike, it's not how fast your music is that you determine the level of spinning dude...you call yourselves Dj's? You dont know anything! lol

I made a few psy tracks using scratch samples, it worked out pretty well, but id really love to learn how to do it for real... anyone feel like giving me a 101 class?

meh, bpm does affect spinning though... no it's not the ONLY aspect but you can't deny that it DOES matter. Every single song might have to be mixed differently, I find that number one thing to do in order to be a good DJ is to KNOW YOUR MUSIC!!
I'm feeling right pissed off right now..

Find yourself a copy of Q-Bert's Do-It-Yourself-Scratching. Within a week you'll have a good chunk of it down pat. Best DVD investment any DJ that wants to learn to scratch could possibly do.

Knowing your music is more for constructing progressive, story telling sets and mixes, it has NOTHING to do with Bpm, because ANY music that is sequenced by machine can be mixed together....oh snap! Thats means I can mix Hip hop with Psytrance? Yep! DnB and Speedcor? Yep! Psytrance and Raggaeton? Yep! You name it, it can be done...especially with todays mixing technology ie final scratch, serato, torq.

umm, why in hell would i want to scratch anything over my psytrance?? its such a horrible sound !!! Scratching kills any melody a track might have and unless by scratch you mean like looping a vocal from a track a few times in a row, i really do not see the purpose.. if the track would sound good with an anoying hight-pitched sound, the artist would have included it himself !!

but yeah, im still up for a battle !! you pick from my crate, i pick from yours !! blindstyle !!
