| I've talked to a few friends recently about this and have yet to come to any kind of real answer, except one.
here's the thing...
When and why has it become socially acceptable and in fact 'cool' to be an asshole/bitch. Why is being mean so popular? Is it a lack of morals or something altogether different?
Well one answer my friend gave was quite interesting...
Cool people have open minds, open minded people try drugs, and finaly drugs make you an asshole/bitch. Hence, if you are cool, you are mean. Thoughts? |

| For some people it's a simple ego boost thing, and some people are just plain spiteful or vengeful. Perhaps you're farmiliar with "Schadenfreude" which is a german term used to define shameful joy where people take pleasure in the misfortunes of others which is actually quite a bizarre social phenomenon practiced primarily by today's resentful members of society most of whom were abused, exploited, or made ashamed of at some point in their past. |

| If you make someone feel like shit, you'll obviously feel better about yourself. It's everywhere, like elementary schools etc... People have trouble being confidant without having to be "better" than someone else. I think being mean is human nature....human nature sucks :( :P |

It's fucked up cause all the people I know who are mean and spiteful, are also morons... I guess on a level they are either jealous or think they can't hurt people... but fuck, some noble lies really are worth living by... teaching by example doesn't always work |

I guess I am mostly pissed off by the younger ones... like the lack or respect from some people is simply astounding. But I feel they don't do it on purpose... as I said, it's become 'cool' to be a bitch about shit. I find that fucking wack and they all deserve a hard slap in the face every now and then, but that just makes things worse! |

| I dunno if it makes it "worse" persay but it definitely doesn't help the problem. If anything you'd be lowering yourself to their level, consequently contributing to the perpetual cycle of hate and violence which never requires any additional participation. |

| Eventually, if one potential victim after another continuously ignores their repeated efforts, the success ratio of offensive behavior to affected victims will be reduced to such a negligible figure that they'll either give up entirely or come to the realization that they need to improve what they might consider a social "skill" otherwise their actions lose purpose entirely. Consequently, they would then view themselves as failures because others are less affected (or completely unaffected) by their behaviour which would help them finds something better to do with their time and mental energy. |

| Yeah, idealy that's how it would go down. In practice, they tend to get violent because they feel more useless since their bullying didn't work. |
