no no! we NEED the babies... again, don't worry about the future, everything will work out, it always does
having babies is the only worthwhile thing to do, if you don't make babies(or at least raise one) you're existence is meaningless!!! life doesn't end with you, it's just the begining! so stop being selfish and get pregnant damn it! any one without a mate can stop by my place anytime after 5pm... I've got a baby making cannon hidden in my pants. women only! you men are useless to me!! lol Mise À Jour » AlienZeD a écrit sur Wed 29 Nov, 2006 @ 4:45pm btw, grain of salt people, grain of salt.

you would know for sure Stunna, but I can imagine that it's also been the most thrilling experience in you life, to have a kid. I envy that i most say, cause I was there once, but chose the easy path of NOT having it.... i regret it, cause I think no one is ever ready for it, until it happens.

Hmm, seriously, I think I'm too fucked up to raise a kid. I got teased as a child, and if I see my child getting teased, or worse, teasing other kids, I think I might do very evil things.
I'm only 20, so my mind might change with time, but for now, well... I'm happy they invented pills ;)

I resent the above statement "having babies is the only worthwhile thing to do, if you don't make babies(or at least raise one) you're existence is meaningless!!!" (assuming of course that it's not written with complete sarcasm). The statement basically implies that every person who's never had a child contributed nothing to the species, our culture, or the environment in which we live.
I suppose all the people in the following list have been completely useless and shouldn't have even bothered existing altogether since, according to what you've implied is the only purpose in living... George Washington Arthur C. Clark Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell Mickey Rourke Oprah Winfrey Louis Armstrong Julia Child Ella Fitzgerald Katharine Hepburn Edgar J Hoover Emily Dickinson Dr. Seuss Christopher Walken David Letterman Jay Leno Quentin Tarantino Should I go on? I guess why bother,... all the inventors, writers, doctors, entertainers, musicians, philosophers, poets, scientists, politicians, military personnel, business owners, etc, who didn't have children cause they either chose not to or were unable to accomplished nothing whatsoever and shouldn't be respected or remembered by humanity. It's obvious that you need to rethink your argument and realize that unlike other species which don't have the mental or physical capability to do anything constructive purpose for us extends way beyond simple reproduction. it's a personal thing, like your cousin (i did read your post, but responding would have been suicide considering how long it would have been) I believe I am nothing unless I contribute to society and raise a strong moraled individual. but that's a personal goal I feel I can achieve... so I choose it for myself. Everyone has differing views though of course. Although this whole thread is half a joke, I am also half serious and it is meant purely as arguments to convince others to procreate... arguments, in order to be persuasive must be direct and extreme, sometimes. But you guys all do what you want, AFTER you have that kid. ;)

Don't misinterpret what I'm saying, having children is definitely a positive thing. I myself would also someday like to contribute to humanity by having at least 1 child of my own and hopefully, if my financial and social situation allows for it, adopting several others. It just seems so basic and so instictive that procreating alone wouldn't satisfy my overall desire to contribute to humanity. I'd like to assume of course that you have other secondary goals which would also contribute to humanity's (social) evolution aside from simply having children...
Also note that for the record, the cousin I was refering to enjoys arguing with me alot sometimes purely tyo play devil's advocate for his own entertainment purposes which makes it extremely difficult for me to gauge the level of seriousness (in any) in his arguments whenever we discuss or debate cyclical topics related to politics, philosophy, religion, social issues, and morality which can all be viewed and argued from multiple, often oppossing perspectives which all have the potential for rational and/or emotional justifications relative to the individual's experiences or opinions. The way I see it existence and life don't need a pupose, they serve their own purpose. Simply put, Purpose is something each individual creates to justify their own existence, or existence as a whole which, ironically need not even be justified to begin with or have any explanation for regardless. In the beginning probability existed and we, along with the current state of reality are all simply byproducts of the equation who's beginning and end can never be determined. In other words, we're all variables.

We're all likely very distant cousins if anything. As humans we all share certain genetic properties which inevitably predisposes us to share certain psychological properties as well.
Basically this conversation was determined to happen in some form or reality, between unknown individuals, at an artitrary time, under irrelevant circumstances...

His son Harry Joseph Letterman, named after David's late father, was born on November 3, 2003. kids are the future, no future without the kids... one way or another, as a species, we need to reproduce, and if you want to be a valuable member of that species, you either have make it easier for others to reproduce or do it yourself.
I guess NOT having a mate makes it easier for others to find a mate though...
