 Coolness: 115650 | Bushido : The Way of the Warrior... The code of the Samouraï... The Samuraï's Order was dismiss in 1878... just 128 years... The Bushido dictated 7 logical & objective methods or Ways of Life which made the Samouraï an elite class & the base of the entire Japan Society... Those Ways are:
1- CHU : Duty & Loyalty : This IS the purpose of the Samuraï's life (Samuraï meaning "the one who serves")... also, by following this statement, they had an Acceptance of Death even at the very beginning of their training (starting at the age of 5)... with this "death's agreement", they could only had a complete Loyalty for the one they served (called Damiyo, meaning "Lord" as it was a feodal system)... 2- GI : Morality & Justice : By choosing each & every actions they took by the reasoned knowledge of what was right & wrong, they considered this doing as morality, and Justice would/could prevail by doing these actions without any self-interest (which they couldn't had as for their Loyalty to the one they serve) 3- REI: Benevolence (Compassion) : This is the foundation of Leadership & Rulership... respect, compassion for everyone in lower classes... which could only lead to a profound earned respect from the troops... 4- JIN : Polite courtesy : Having a complete sympathy towards the others with high awareness... In Europe, it was called Chivalry... 5- MAKOTO : Complete sincerity : Making actions that originated from your words... your words initiate your actions... 6- YUU : Heroic Courage (Bravery) : The highest virtue... in opposition to blinding fanatism... 7- MEIYO : Honor & Glory : The Fruit of Perfection... and it had to be protected at every cost.. if not, it would only demonstrate a sign of weakning and that the 6 other codes before were weaks... By having already found their purpose of life at the very beginning of their training, and also by using only logical & reasoned knowledge (making abstraction not only of their emotions or interests, by also of their self entirely), death had to be accepted in the begin as for your way of life was already traced... You can't choose when you'll die... but you can choose how you will... the result of this way of life could only lead to perfection, making Samouraï an elite class... and having only perfectio in your society's foundation =) |

I like what you said it really relates to my feelings on certain things. For example, I have questioned myself on the concept of death and have reached the conclusion that perhaps, us human beings can eventually transcend death at which point we would not be the same type of beings. I am not sure. In any event, I differentiate between having a job and working. Everyone needs to work, but a job is what one takes out of circumstance, out of convience, to make money. I could define it more but I will leave it at that. I notice that if there is one thing that JOBS tend to have in common is that either the final product of the company is toxic, or polluting in the some way. OR the environment, working conditions at the job, are often damaging to the eyes, ears, skin, and/or even sense of touch. For example, I work in front of a computer screen all day, taking calls pretty much non-stop, the sound of those calls are projeccted into one ear. The job is detrimental to my senses, not to mention that I am encouraging people to use things they don't need. LiiLii: I don't know what you were thinking when you wrote your post above but that is what it resonates within me. |

| Coolness: 60590 | We see death diffirently! Death to me is nothing.. Im sorry! Im an embaulmer and it's my job. You can't judge people but how they think. We just don't see it the same way. Death is part of the cercle of life. We all die, in different ways. |
