 Coolness: 57325 | are you sure you'd be the general manager... from all the franchizees that ive seen and talked to, one of the owners always turns out to be the general manager. i was a manager in the kitchen, i dont like being manager in the front of the house (you cant yell at the clients, but in the kitchen if a waitress is pissing my employees off... i can put them in their place)
as for the management, it all depends on the owners how they react to their managers, remember i was at the corporate one, so i had the company on my back, not just the person who baught the rights to the name. but you have to remember that this is a franchaize, and boston pizza coporate still has say in the place, everything has to be perfect to their standards, so they will be hard on the owners to make it perfect, which in turn will put shit on your back. If you understand that and are ready for that challenge, id say go for it, since you will be that high in the resturant, you'd probably have a sweet salary, but one word of advice, be carfull when working for your friends, what happends while working should never affect what happends off the clock |

let me tell you then.. I had a terrible experiance with the BP at the Angrion Mall.. i went over to pick up my girlfriend after work one night and we went on the terrase to grab a beer after her shift.. as i was tanking away, one of the waitresses keeps bitching about her stupid manager. So i can't help myself to ask her whats wrong.. she then explains to me that durring happy hour (BP offers 2 for 1 on drinks during that time on specific days of the week) a cliet arrived at a table with a friend and asks for a beer (knowing its 2 for 1).. they get served the beer by the afromentioned waitress with a smile. The manager then approaches the waitress and asks her "i hope you charged that table 2 drinks".. "but why boss, its 2 for 1 no?" "no my dear, 2 for 1 here at BP means 2 drinks for YOU and only you".. The manager then approached the table to explain the situation and charged them 2 beers (probably after serving them the remaining 2 free one's).. SO yeah, we are sitting down talking about this and i then jump to conclusions saying that "the Manager must be Jewish" (making referance to there tightness with money and giving stuff away for "free").. So the manager (whom was sitting next to me) taps me on the shoulder and says "Yeah, we are jewish".. Can you imagine the face of the customer whom now has to pay for 2 beers when he only wanted 1 (with a freebie for his friend)?? Yeah, i stepped out of line a little, but i was still right about it and it was uber funny, yet troubling at the same time. Now why i have the idea that jewish people are cheap is a whole different story and personal experiances i don't feel like sharing .. :) and for the record, i have aunts and uncles that i love who are jewish, so im not the next satan.. :) |
