unfortunatly local live fights don't happen frequently in Battambang but I've been going to local spots with one of my uncles 'moto-doup' driver friend this is a taxi like service where you sit on the back of a motorcycle ride around town ranging from 0.25$-1$ you can eat a really decent meal for 0.25$ to 0.75$ but other things can be pretty costly also and add up if you're not carefull the above average person makes 30$ a month here but some of these people carry 300$ cellphones... some models the average person in montreal doesnt even carry... like 1000$ ones it's insane how materialistic it can be all the fights is Muay Thai from Thailand on satelite tv (channel 3 and 10) there's a fight going on everyday of the week and sometimes twice a day it gets pretty stressfull cause as the action gets intense so does the betting with people shouting their bets you can bet against the guy you were betting on in the beginning if he's starting to lose they change their bets frequently and get really crazy screaming the top of their lungs trying to get someone to accept an offer the internet connection sucks here so this is all you're all getting from me for a the next few weeks other interesting cultural differences since people are so poor here when you buy a soft-drink they pour it from the can or especially bottle into a plastic bag and put a straw in it it's common to ride 5 people at the same time on the same scooter |
