i've experienced quite a bit with pills and personally, i don't like the effect that they have on me. i find that's the one big difference between pills and psychadelics (like mush and acid); you aren't necessarily going to have the best time like you would if you took a pill. yes, you are very happy when you're on ecstacy (obviously) but when you're asked the question "why are you so happy?" the only answer you can give is "i have no clue why, but i am so happy", but when you are on acid, if someone asks you why you are so happy, the answer is usually "because the world is so beautiful". i like this answer a lot more personally. sure, it's awesome to feel good, but for me i found there was no meaning behind it when i took ecstacy.
plus, it doesn't last long, which usually makes it so that you take like 2 or 3 pills in a night... trust me, it takes a toll on your body and mind after a while.
I'm feeling eccentric right now..

were pills ever your "fav" drug that made you say something like I love (name that pill)because the world is beautiful? Were there any other drugs besides acid, mush, that you prefered over others.

Ideally, I want to learn to live without drugs. I don't need them. But for me E has been more uplifting than any acid or mush trip. On acid or mush (I haven't done it in about 8 -10 years) the buzz would totally overwhelm me. It was too mind fucking for me- tripwise. Anyway, It seems there is always a drug out there that can be more compatible with one person than another...

so for now ecstasy is good?!

i suppose so. i'm not saying it's a bad drug... i mean in reality all drugs are 'bad'... it's just a fact that there are some drugs out there that are less harmful to your brain than others. anything done in moderation is perfectly fine, but it's up to the individual to draw that line. i know, honestly, that i am a very excessive person and i guess i can say i have somewhat of an addictive personality. when something feels so incredibly good, it's only natural to want to do it over and over again... that's why i don't like it.

another reason is that it's chemically made. i don't know... that just makes me feel uneasy. i'd rather do a drug that grows in the ground, that has been used by people for ages. acid is not natural, but it is taken in such minute doses that it is literally impossible to overdose, and it is the quickest drug to leave your bloodstream. but even though it is i understand when you say that mush/acid were too mind-fucking and overwhelming, but i find beauty in that... learning to stare down the demons that dwell deep inside of you.
gaining a new perspective... learning who you truly are because you will be you forever... i don't know. i'm not trying to justify why i use psychadelics, because there is no justifying it.
it's just who i am :)
I'm feeling bliss right now..

What is the context ? How are you feeling ? Where are you ? Who are you with ? And finally, are you sure what you're swallowing/smoking/shooting is of good quality ? All good questions to ask yourself before taking E, or any kind of intense drug.

I think it's possible to have positive and permanent changes from ecstasy. But my experience from it has been mostly soul shatering and I can't take pills anymore. But I'm quite happy to learn that some of you had, au contraire, great experiences with E.

Drugs simply fucks up the chemicals in your brain to make you feel a way you would not normally feel in the same circomstence. (Ex: you tend to be a shy person in group, but on E, you ain't shy about anything) On doit rendre a César ce qui appartient a César, drug can make you discover new faces of your personality

... BUT ...

Permanent positive changes in self-image and social interaction don't come from the drug, but from the experience you had on drug. If you lacked confidence and felt better on drug, your brain starts believing you can actually be self-confident, and the more you live this experience, the more your brain believe it can be happy/social/self-confident/whatsoever.

Permanent changes induced by the drug itself are never good, and will surely overcome any positive change on the long run. If you are lucky, you may not see the changes before 20-30 years, but you will surely start feeling them someday, when your body starts it's slow decay.

I'm glad that drugs helped you discover a new side of yourself, but any positive change can only be the cause of a shift in your way of thinking, not from drugs itself. Once you realize that, you will see that you don't need drugs to be whatever you want, you just need to know how your brain works and the way to reprogram this "computer", without having to put a "virus" in it !
I'm feeling tired but happy right now..

i think it simply depends on the drug. it also depends on the person. like you were saying, if someone who is shy naturally but then isn't when they are on e, then it would seem logical that they would think they'd have to do it over and over again to gain the same feelings toward themselves and others. so someone can gain from the experience and be happy living their life without the drug any longer but simply be happy that you have had that experince, while others will be searching for those same amazing feelings they had when they were on e.
i don't see the drugs i use as a virus... rather i see the thoughts and images that society puts into my brain as a virus. my use of drugs is just a part of the person i am. and even if i haven't had any drug in my system for months i still think the same way. it's a combination then i guess of the person who you are when you are sober, your true self, and the person you become when you are on drugs, and how all of those different yous react together. for some people, it can be fuel to the fire.
I'm feeling giving right now..
