 Coolness: 166520 | Je sais que j'ai pas trop rapport, mais... ...some people said some stuff along the lines of how complaining on-line is not cool, well, I just wnated to add that not everyone has the promoters home number or address, fortunately for them, and may not be in position to say shit to their faces, and that is part of WHY THIS SITE EXISTS, not to bitch, but to say what needs to be said so that the same problems do not arise in the future. Heat is a problem, and the last hardcore parties I attended were cool as ice, but people should definitely complain when, after all these years, it's still too hot in an event...the smoking issue is a problem, and is a reality that promoters have to deal with now, so that has to be mentioned and discussed. Etc, etc... ...gratuitus bitching leads to bullshit fights, but founded complaints lead to solutions...There are other issues that are hurting raves, and maybe one day, when a reason gets stuck up our asses, we'll address those too...freedom of speech people!... aside from, that, it's nice to see that some of you actually tried to have fun at a party... oh, yeah, girl DJs kick ass, anyone who disses 'em will have to answer to me (among many others)... last note: how come no one from Sensitive or Fractal has posted anything on this thread yet?...YOUR INPUT IS IMPORTANT... |

| Coolness: 146300 | je sais pas ce qui s'est passé, j'étais pas là, mais même si Stef&Sophie ont fait une erreur cette fois (ce qui reste à prouver), ils restent quand même des gens fiables qui travaillent beaucoup pour enrichir la scène montréalaise de musiques électroniques... sans eux pas de centre fractal, pas autant de bons party/raves ! donc avant d'attaquer comme ça ce serait un peu plus raisonnable de se modérer et surtout d'attendre d'avoir les versions de l'histoire par tous les bords.

First of all, forcing party goers into a basement and not letting them leave because the police arrive is complete bullshit. Any promoter who would do such a thing is the most amateur, unprofessional joker I have ever heard of. Every single party I threw, the police arrived. Every single one. They usually stayed for about an hour, and moved through the crowd and around the venue while I accompanied them to explain the situation and answer their questions. At no time did the party ever stop, or was anyone ever forced to hide. Once, I turned down the volume a few notches, while being observed by a police officer. Once, someone was ejected from the party for doing K in front of an officer. For all of you people who sat in that basement and didn't cause a huge commotion to leave, as was your right - that's just sad. For all of you who defend these promoter's actions, and say that speaking out against them "hurts the scene" - that is even MORE sad. I'll tell you what hurts the scene - amateur hour promoters who don't know how to plan their parties properly and pull bullshit stunts like this. If the "scene" you are trying so hard to protect consists of flakes like the people who pulled this shit, well, that's not a scene worth protecting.
