Here are some examples Canada's worst handy man Canada's worst driver American idol and so on we sit in our homes and watch the weading out process & we find it interesting? have we become so numb in the head that we need to watch other people failures to make us happy about our lives Even in the movie industry we have more and more remakes or just plain stupid ideas are we as a race just more and more stupid? on the other side there is always discovery chanal.....got to love it.  Coolness: 35710 | We live in an ego based society and what better way to boost the ego by showing you people that are beneath you . It also strenghthens the judgemental part of your ego . TV is about creating a numbing the mind it does by making you get so absorbed into what you are watching ( at least you are not listening to the voices in your head ) . It creates the emotions that you can share with others and agree or disagree , iNstead of paying attention to your own life and living it . tHEY PULL you into their drama's so yours don't seem as bad . they want you to spend your time watching , how can you make sure that your life doesn't turn into a drama .
If your life is a drama you need to consume , The tv is just a salesman on mini stilts |

Lee: we do have to wonder why. What's WoRsE is that people underestimate the idea that they are watching it for any other reason than that it is funny. They don't necessarily know why they think it is funny. It JUST? is and that I guess is good enough for "THEM". |

Genre, on s'en fout de qu'est-ce que la ptite Ginette a mangé à matin pis avec qui elle sort!!! It's superficial, nothing deep in these shows. I prefer watching documentaries ;) |

 Coolness: 102975 | i'm so tired of people equating TV with stupility, "yeah i don't watch tv, i'm so much better than those who do". Some People are smart enough to filter out what is, unfortunely most are not. There are good educational shows out there, and good creative tv shows.
And to answer to Lee inquiry.... it's lowest common entertainment denominator. Shows that can reach a wider audiences, more ratings equals more money. Discovery is getting worse and worse, less nature, geography and engineering shows and more blah blah blah drama. Like American Chopper, i don't want to fucking see the BS drama, i want to see the bike getting fucking built, all of the building steps. |
