For those who wanna know, Worksafe is an option you can turn on. Right now there is a voting system on threads in the new BBS and on all images where you can rate it as being worksafe or not worksafe.. if an image gets a negative rating (making it "not worksafe") than anyone who is set to have "worksafe on" wont be able to see it. Instead they'll see an image that says "this is not worksafe". Reply rating is a quick little option for people to vote good or bad on someone's reply to a thread. Say you have a nice conversation/debate going on then some asshole jumps in and starts spamming/bitching.. you can vote his message down.. once it's given a negative rating it becomes hidden and can only be viewed if you toggle it. |

there's no limit to how many photos you can upload. the reasons are many. A) No more of that retarded hotlink protection from linking to other sites B) No more reading an old thread and seing broken image tags cause the host for that image is gone, making the thread garbage. C) No more loading a thread, having it jump to the last spot you've read up to, then having it scroll upwards cause the photos are loading (this is because we can't tell how big the image is before it's started to load, which causes the browser to scroll) D) Worksafe. Because all photos uploaded to the site have a voting system attached to it, they will also be deemed (by members/peers) to be worksafe or not worksafe.. when you switch your account into worksafe mode you will instead see a nice image telling you it's not. E) You no longer need to dig around to find the URL of the image and use annoying [ img ] tags. All you need to know is the photo ID (which is nicely listed at the top of the page in huge text telling you it's id. To display a picture you type [XXXX] (X being the ID). If the photo exists, it displays it, if it doesn't it just repeats the text in the message. In the end, i think the upsides to the new system outweigh the old. |

| Coolness: 2604000 | The calendar and other areas also work with locations... You will see events within X distance of you, there can be a communnity calendar which will show events within X distance of the community core as well as special community additions which can be put into the calendar. DJs will highlight if they are more then X miles (or kilometers) away from the location they are playing at. There is an event wizard for adding your events and the option to have multiple day events is now working. Almost everything is either new code or major rewrite of old obselete code.
There are no limits to how much people can add and it's possible that we write a software which will link [ IMG ] images to the board but it won't happen right away. All old images will be linked automatically if they still exist. Another big option is the ability to give other people access to the profiles you own. You can have 4 people who have access to a bands profile, 2 people who can access a producer profile. Djs can give their promoters access to their profile. The new site WILL take some getting used to though once it's up. People will complain at first for sure. I don't expect anything to be up for a little while to come, there is still much work to be done. |
