There is not enough masons in montreal to pay for the temple (a multi-million dollar building) so they have to get the money somewhere. The cool stuff is on the upper floors. | Coolness: 43025 | funny stuff, like certain rituals of the higher degrees, which can seem pretty strange and scary. In the master's degree initiation, they put you in a coffin, and then you ''rise from the grave'' as you are reborn, like the pheonix, from your profane insignificant life and you embrace your new and improved masonic life. (in not saying that, they do). Some of the higher masonic degrees involves a lot of occult stuff and rituals, who may seem even satanic to some people. Just a precision though, nowadays its common to receive a 32nd degree right after your 3rd (master) degree. Most lodges dont even talk about the degrees 4 to 31, because people would not believe the kind of stuff that they contain. stuff like strange rituals involving sexual practices (close to tantra), or certain new age spiritual stuff that deals with energy, synchronicity and percerptions, close to what aleister crowley would himself call ''magick'', i.e., the capacity to bend reality to exert your true will (and not fireballs like dungeon and dragon dorks). Im not really confortable discussing that stuff in the open like that, because to most people it will look crazy, and so will i. although i am not saying i believe in that stuff either. |
